Foot Locker
Any of you OSers work there? Honestly, every time I go in there I am attacked by salespeople trying to sell me everything. One of my least favorite places to shop for that reason. If I want to buy something trust me I will tell you.Tags: None -

That is how every shoe store is. I am so used to people not giving crap like in Wal Mart or other big time stores.Comment

Re: Foot Locker
It's mostly because the majority of employees work on commission. Also there are sales numbers they have to meet or risk being disciplined.PSN ID: Lordcledus

Re: Foot Locker
Footlocker employees do work on commission. I used to work at one in New Bern, NC many years ago. They really get money off of multiples, selling more than one item. So if they can get you to buy 3-4 things, thats a good sale for an employee. Especially, if are buying multiple pairs of shoes @ $100+.
That's why when you get to the register, they ask you "Who helped you with your order?" If they don't, the person ringing up the items (non-management) will steal the commission.Comment

Re: Foot Locker
Oh really? I wasn't aware of that.
I used to work in sales extensively and pushiness usually doesn't work. It turns most people off. Most people will buy when a salesperson takes a more laid back approach to trying to get someone to buy.Comment

Re: Foot Locker
Yeah they not the only ones. Some of Best Buy, Sears, JcPenny and Kohl's employees work off of comission as well. Depending on what department you are assigned to.Comment

Re: Foot Locker
I was looking for ball shoes once, and the dude wanted me to buy the new LeBrons (the most expensive shoe) and I asked him for a different pair and he just kept rambling on and on about the LeBrons. I tried them on, didn't like them, and he just wouldn't stop telling me all the cool stuff these LeBrons had. He seriously wouldn't let me try on a different shoe. I was just like eff it, n left.Comment

Re: Foot Locker
Oh yeah, worked there too, OMG.
L&G dept...I could BS a person about a lawn mower and have him buy it but I could never get them to purchase the service agreements. I could always get the women to purchase them though.Comment

Re: Foot Locker
I was in Refrigerators. People used to get on my nerves with that because they would spend like $1500-2000 on a Refrigerator but then hold out on the Warranty. Used to have to go through Hell to get that extra warranty lol.#RespectTheCultureComment
