100 wallets dropped in front of hidden cameras to test honesty...

    Interesting - http://www.wallettest.com/

Each of the 100 lost wallets contained $2.10 in real money, a fake $50.00 gift certificate, some miscellaneous items and a clearly written ID card identifying the lost wallet's rightful owner. We were curious as to how honest people would be and wanted to see how different groups would compare to each other.
    Concrete evidence/videos please

I've returned a few wallets in my time. Hopefully, if I ever lose mine, it will be returned.

I like the "idiot tax" version.

You keep the cash and put the rest in a mailbox to be returned.

Funny thing happened this weekend. Went to Norfolk for the weekend. Found a check card in a parking lot. I got home and I called it in that someone dropped their check card. The bank told me that they NEVER get this type of call. I feel good

I found a credit card in an atm in NY, couldn't catch the person. I called it in and the person on the phone was the same way.

Since I do believe in Karma and "what goes around..." I will always return the Wallet. Its best to do it in person just in case they are a billionaire and will give you a Hundred G for your kindness.

this is really cool, i hope if i ever lose mine i get it returned. It seems like if there was only 2.50 in the wallet it wouldn't even be worth taking

Re: 100 wallets dropped in front of hidden cameras to test honesty...

A few months ago, I left my cell phone and wallet on the back of my dad's car while I was playing basketball in the driveway. While I was briefly inside to get a drink of water, he decided he had to go to the grocery store. Of course he didn't notice my stuff on his trunk, and he drove off with it.

Somehow my phone never fell off, but the wallet did. I thought I was screwed until a couple days later, when it showed up in my mailbox. Some dude apparently found it and brought it over. He left his card, so I sent him an email thanking him. It was really surprising to see someone do that.

Hopefully I find a wallet someday so that I can balance the karma scale out...
