Sometimes I Wish Folks Would Have To Take A Test To See If They Are Able To Have Kids

So I went to the "Univer-Soul" Circus last night, and it was a very entertaining show, but one thing throughout the show bothered me.

Two rows in front of me was this little girls (probably no more than 8), and ANYTIME a song was played, this girl would act like she was in some type of strip club. I mean this girl was sticking her butt out, "poppin it", slow grinding and just thought she was a stripper basically. THe thing that made me mad? Her mother was sitting RIGHT there encouraging it all. Her mother was probably in her early 20s.

So there comes a point in the show where they called "kids" onto the stage for a dance-off. So guess who RUNS down to the front to be in the contest. Yes, the little stripper.

So first the ring-master introduces the 3 girls by name, and ALL three of them have hood names (thats another issue in itself), and once "the girl" gets announced, her mother is screaming to the top of her lungs. I am saying to myself, "Oh man."

So the music starts and the little girl just goes crazy. Doing splits and her "normal" routine. Her mother is cheering her on. . People in the crowd had this disgusted look on their faces, but for the most part, people were encouraging it.

Anybody that knows me knows that I hate foolishness like that. I swear to god I wanted to punch her mother right between the eyes. It was almost as if she was PROUD of her daughter.

"We" need to do better is all I am going to say.

Everyone doesn't need to be able to have kids man.

I have thought that for a long time... It seems to me that people who shouldn't be having kids are having more of them while people that would be/are good parents are having less of them. In another generation the idiots are going to rule.

That kid's life is probably already decided. Unless she looks really good and us that to get out, she will be stuck right where her mother is and the cycle will probably continue.

I see where you are coming from and I can tell your right now, that I am understanding more and more why this happens everyday. It seems now that our kids are lead to believe that every moral belief is subjective. Meaning, that if it works for you then it is right. Your beliefs influence the way you act, I don't care who you are, you act the way you do because of what you believe. We will use your example DC. We would all believe that young girls acting like that and not being modest is inappropiate, right? Well there came a time where people began to believe being a stripper is ok. Personally, I believe anything involving lust like that is wrong, but that's just me. There came a point though where people started to accept stripping as something that wasn't taboo, so to say, and quit being so harsh towards it. You can see it now, I could go to my school and find many people who would say that they would have no problem with a young girl exposing herself in order to pay her way through school or to get out of a rough situation. These people start the diffusion of their beliefs with their friends and to their children if they have them. That's why the world is the way it is today. Things are being accepted that, in my honest opinion, should not be accepted because they are just wrong. These subjective beliefs that are so common in our postmoderism world today have pretty much let everyone act the way they want, and we are becoming afraid to say anything to them because of this "If it works for me, then it is right" mentally that is being instilled in our youth today. If we try to point out an absolute truth then we get immediately attacked.

I'm in no way saying I'm perfect, I make mistakes too. Just something I have observed as someone who lives against the cultural norm these days.

Yea that is why I said "Sometimes I wish." They control enough of our lives as it is now.

jct32; great post. Actually in this era of the, "Every girl wants to be a video vixxen" - we see more and more young girls more comfortable acting this way because they have a shot of making a career out of it. Also you know television promotes sex more than ever before, the kids see it EVERYWHERE.

If you ask me it's more of a "the parents don't give a damn what the kid is doing as long as they're not bothering them" that I have problem with. I'm telling you these kids today are some of the most disrespectful kids I've ever seen. I remember when I was growing up and you got smart with some grownup,they'd go and tell your dad,and buddy I'm telling you he'd handle it. I know I'm not the only one who had parents like that. Now,one of these young jitterbugs does something out of the way to you,you might as well not even go to the parents,because you're gonna get cussed out.
