OSBL Basketball: Sign-Up Thread

Welcome to the OS Basketball League, a manager league I'm setting up here on the OS forums. For a brief description of how the league will work, see this thread.

I'm still working on the player pool and tweaking the spreadsheets a little bit, but in the meantime, you can post below to reserve your spot for the league.

I'm only taking 12 teams for the first season, so if you're going to sign up, make sure you'll be able to check up on your team regularly and that you're really interested - if not, save the spot for someone else.

If you're not sure whether you want to join or not, I'm planning on expanding the league to about 16-18 teams for the next season, so you can follow the first one and decide if you're interested.

So, if you've decided you want to join, please provide me with the following information:

With that info, I'll start setting up the actual league thread. Each team will begin with a set amount of cash (probably $100,000,000 or so). We'll then get to picking players, and then we'll begin. But for now, all I need are those four basic things.

With the stats, are you randomizing the players? How many "attributes" will each player have?

Each player has 9 attributes right now. They are:

Inside Scoring
Mid-Range Scoring
3-Point Shooting
Free Throw Shooting
Inside Defense
Perimeter Defense
Speed
Pass Ability
Rebound Ability
Shot Tendency
Potential

Also, there's age, height, and weight.

Right now I'm up to about 90 fake players in my database, which I've been working on for a few days. Once I have about 50-60 more and 10-12 teams, we can start.

As far as stats, the spreadsheets that I have determine them after every game. I made these spreadsheets a couple years ago and they occasionally produce absurd numbers (mostly because of the random element I've added to them), so I will occasionally alter them to make them plausible.

((By the way - Mos Def is a beast, man. 'Black Star' with Kweli and 'Black on Both Sides' are definitely two of my favorite albums of all time.))

I'm just gonna bump this one last time in case anybody is interested. I completed the 165-player database, so if anybody does want to do this, we can get it going. If not, it's no problem, I can try again on a different website's forum, but I thought it could be cool here on OS. Anyway, let me know...
