I'm a little nervours right now...............

Well as some of you know I have been sick with bronchitis, I don't get sick often at all, thats been the story my whole life. Now I have been sick with bronchitis for well over a week now, and I'm worried why I have gotten any better.


Now at the doctors a week ago he did full blood work and I had a full ultrasound on my heart, and I have a different heart beat then others, the normal humans heart beat's at 60/70 beats per minuter which is normal, my heart is beating at a 100 minutes per minute always.

Not if I'm being called in for the heart issue or something they found in my blood work. I have been to my doctor a bunch of times and have received blood work, never once has he ever called me in to go over something.

Now, yes I'm nervous.

My girlfriend and I recently went through something regarding her health. She was having problems and had a bunch of doctor's appointments scheduled.

Naturally, her and I were both worried. Her symptoms didn't appear to be life threatening, but they were serious enough to wonder if this could be the start of something really, really bad.

The days in between appointments she constantly freaked out. But I was pretty calm. What can you do, honestly? What will stressing about it do? It'll really only add to the problem. I went the route of saying, let's wait until we figure out what it is before we start adding to our worries? Of course, it didn't help ease her mind too much because it's hard to help, especially when it regards YOU. She's a natural worrier.

Everyone always thinks of the negative results. Never the positives.

I don't want to go into details, but she's fine now. All that worrying got her nowhere. All those doubts and negatives thoughts were just that, thoughts. Not real.

What I'm trying to say is, let's wait and see if there is a problem here before we have thoughts about our impending death. You know?

Although it is hard, you need to try not to worry. Stress only makes things worse. I was hospitalized at the end of January for chest pains. They performed a cardio stress test which they stated was abnormal. My cardiologist wanted to do additional testing but it had to be approved by my insurance. It took 3 weeks to get the approval. Talk about being stressed. I was afraid to get my heart rate above my resting heart beat for fear of having a heart attack. I was afraid to go to sleep at night for fear I would not wake up.

After more advanced testing it was determined that my heart was fine. My heart just beats with a strange -T wave (or something like that) that makes it appear to be abnormal under the stress test. Looking back on those 3 weeks, I wish I would have done things differently. I basically wasted 3 weeks of my life living in fear. In addition, I ended up with other aliments that were caused by the stress and lack of sleep.

Any way, I hope it all turns out well regardless of what the doctor says.

Stressing WILL make it worse, and will raise your blood pressure among other things.

I hope it is nothing serious, and wish you the best.

Try and do something you enjoy which will get your mind off of thinking about test results etc.

Waiting to hear back from doctors is terrible but like people have said before try to take your mind off it. I know it's easy to say but it's honestly the best thing you can do in this situation.

Don't worry yourself too much bud. Even if it turns out to be something, be happy they caught it and remember they have medicine for kinds of stuff these days to keep you well.

This is true. Stress is not just a state of emotion, but it takes a real effect on the human body. People who live with stress live shorter lives, this is verifiable. Worrying about it does not do any good, unfortunately.

That doesn't mean that you shouldn't be concerned, but there are appropriate times to be focusing on it above other things.

Hope it all works out bro, and everybody is right...try not to focus on the worst case scenario.

I've had a family doctor that believed in giving me the worst case first and always got me worked up for practically nothing. A few years of that at my age (where everythings possibly cancer or fatal) and I got a new doctor.

I have Type 4 Hyperlipidemia/Hyperglycemia, which is bad cholesterol, very bad. I just don't get it, I don't drink Soda and I eat pretty healthy. problem is, this crap runs in my family. So the doctor put me on medication. I'm 30 years old and this crap makes a high risk for a heart attack.


Now I have to watch everything I eat, everything.

I take a baby aspirin and 5mg crestor, even though my cholesterol was only at 120 without even trying to lower it, everyday. I have heart problems in my family so I'm trying to keep myself from having any problems.

I would ask your doctor about the baby aspirin, as its supposed to help you heart and arteries.
