Moore tells Gamasutra that "We're not going to Kotaku or Operation Sports on this one, we're going to Amazon." He must be fully aware of the presence of Ian and thinks OS is important for hard core titles.

Peter Moore talks OS
In an article about review scores, Peter Moore mentions that Metacritic scores are much less relevant for games on the Wii. User reviews on places like Amazon are much more important for Wii games.

Re: Peter Moore talks OS
what i think mr.moore is trying to get at is that he/they(EA) look at OS/various sites for the different feedback that they get on games.
obviously Amazon.com will have more of a family (mother/father) feedback type then OS or IGN or whatever site. b/c they associate amazon with where people buy wii games, leave feedback, etc...
its smart that they look at the different sites to see what is being said about "x" game. we can all see what effect mr.cummings has had on OS and on the game. OS is where the hardcore sim guys are at and they know this.
OS=sim guys
IGN=casual gamer
Amazon=soccer mom/dad
and thats how i see itComment

I guess take Madden for example....What % of buyers would be considered hardcore sim players vs. casual gamers vs. kids.
My perception is that casual gamers will be by far and away the largets demographic. Kids would be second. And sim hard core gamers 3rd by a wide margin.
I would love to see the stats. Best thing for me would be sim gamers had a larger chunk of the pie than I imagined.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Yeah, but at the end of the day, its sales that matter. I agree its helpful to get feedback from the demographics you are targeting but outside of getting some ideas that would translate well into the mainstream, what's really the point of getting the hardcore sim gamers view. Unless the sim gamers make up a much higher % of buyers than I imagined, I really don't see the point.

agreed.
my point was purely on feedback
of course he is looking for the mainstream push market to generate sales
but then again hopefully he is hardcore sim and just trying to help us out a little bitComment

Yup. Aside from Wii Sports (which is not a simulation-type game by any stretch in the conventional sense) I don't think too many people buy the Wii to play sports games.New Jersey Devils- 1995, 2000, 2003
