Re: Highway Patrol pulls over ambulance with patient in back
I know cops put up with a lot of asses and thugs, but some are dicks and asses themselves. I don't think they have always been that way. I think the job make you that way. Not all cops, but some go that route. I think it is becasue of all the crap they have to put up with!
So, no, there is no excuse to be a dick-cop... A lot of these troopers are just on one big power-trip.
This is why I'll never ever ever like the police. They make people feel scared and paranoid... not safe.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Re: Highway Patrol pulls over ambulance with patient in back
Cop started cussing and screaming right from the start. He came off like a jerk to me. He said we have a patient and the cop just started grabbing him, said something like get your *** or something. He didn't say put your hands behind your back or nothing. To me, I know I should do whatever a cop wants, but in the heat of the moment when somenoe is screaming at you and just grabs you, it's easy to not comply.
Of course like always, we are on the outside looking in and I have no idea how it is to be a police officer, but to me, the officer was in the wrong.Last edited by Brandwin; 06-18-2009, 01:34 PM.Comment

then proceeding to ask me to get out of the car and take a breathalyzer test... one in which I passed with flying colors.
Cops cross civil boundaries all the time... because they are on a power trip. They think they treat anyone however they want because of their badge and uniform.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Re: Highway Patrol pulls over ambulance with patient in back
that hardly covers it man. That doesn't explain why cops will stop and question you about where you've been when and where you are coming from, when you just have a headlight out. When you ask "what's the problem officer"... they don't need to answer... "your headlight is out, why? is there a problem I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?" with a death stare...
then proceeding to ask me to get out of the car and take a breathalyzer test... one in which I passed with flying colors.

Cops do not cross civil boundaries all the time, sorry. I was never on a power trip and most of the guys I worked with weren't either.
He clearly needs to be fired WITHOUT QUESTION!!). All allegations have to be investigated and I've seen police officers lose their jobs, rightfully so. Just because this is on video, and videos may not tell the entire story, doesn't mean he gets canned that day, or without question. You wouldn't want to be fired indiscriminately, and no one should be, even cops.

Well, justice has not been served completely. He's been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, so it seems, for all those wanting this guy hung the department has followed the rules set up for discipline of this nature. If the cop is found to have committed a criminal act during the course of this duties, he will be punished.
I do not condone grabbing the neck of any suspect (unless it's a fight for life situation) and all most all police departments have a use of force policy and this is NOT one, I assure you.
But, again, justice cannot be served instantly just because he's a cop.
Thousands of cops doing their jobs with integrity every day. ****, politicans commit crimes every day (New Jersey) and we don't call for their heads.Comment

He has basically been fined $800-$1000 by being suspended for a week. That is your average weeks pay for an officer.Comment

Re: Highway Patrol pulls over ambulance with patient in back
Should have been more. Camera phones and such have been a spotlight on the cops that are bad out there. There's one good thing about all of this technology. It eliminates the "he said, she said".Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: Highway Patrol pulls over ambulance with patient in back
Trust me every stop has different circumstances. When you hit the emergency equipment regardless of reason for stop you never know what the guy/gal behind the wheel is going to do. Simple stops turn ugly quick. Not condoning actions in this case, but before people wanna bash cops, might want to consider there are good officers out there
Plus everyone thinks there are so many bad officers, well consider this they dont show videos of all the officers making great stops and taking felons off the streetsTexas A&M Aggies

There are no "politician's bill increases efficiency and affordability of healthcare", but there are corruption stories every few weeks.
There are no "investment banker builds clients' retirement fund exponentially through good investments" but everyone knows about Madoff.
People doing their job is boring. People abusing power is newsworthy.Comment
