Watering your lawn...

When do you water your lawn? Some say it's best to water in the early morning, some say at night because the water can soak into the soil but others say it causes mold and root rot.

I dunno too much!

I don't water my lawn. I let the rain do it. Most of the people that I know that do water their lawns do it at around 7-8

If you have to water it...which most people overdo...it's best not to water it before extended periods of sunlight. The sun will magnify through the droplets and "burn" the grass.

Morning is better because the slower evaporation rate at night could under the worst conditions create the mentioned root rot.

We haven't really needed to water our grass with all the rain, but most people around here water at night. However I'm never up in the morning to see if there's anyone out watering...

psh watering doesn't do a thing for me.

if i scalp the lawn once in may, it will stay like that till september.

You should do it around 4 or 5 AM.

We still have the stupid hand watering only law in place right now. I don't know what the difference is between me watering with a hose or my sprinkler system. My sprinkler system is probably better and won't water too much or waster water.

Because people are lazy and won't water for an hour like you can do with a sprinkler.

We do ours in the mornign and at night in different areas. All this rain though haven't had to that much.

we have a sprinkler system and I have it come on 2 or 3 days a week if there is no rain. Mine starts at 5am.

Early morning is the best
