I need a new gas grill...

    ...any suggestions?

After a freak accident with my two and a half year old "Perfect Flame" cheapo from Lowe's, the time has come for me to dip back into the pool.

I'm impressed with what I've read about the Char-Broil RED infrared grills, and of course there's always Weber.

My price range is around $400-600 and I would like a rotisserie either included or reasonably affordable, and the whole searing burner seems to be a nice touch.

    So...any recommendations?

NOTE: I DO live in Minnesota, and while I keep my grill covered within an hour or so of cooking, and all through the winter, as well as normal cleaning (burnt food, ash, etc), I do like grilling when available...even in the cold. I'd prefer the grill to last at least as long as my old one did, if not longer (though it may have to go through a move).

    Thanks!

Well, I have a Weber and have nothing but great things to say about it.

I will admit though that I am very curious about the infrared grills, but admittedly have not done any research on them.

The Weber I have has three burners (front, middle, back) and I couldn't be happier with it. I bought it about a year ago though so I haven't had it that long but it held up fine and cooked on it throughout the winter here in PA.

Ask Hank Hill! Any ways check online. They have some good deals at Lowes.

        I have this grill:

and I love it. Had it for over 3 years with no problems. It has 6 burners, infrared rotisserie and a dedicated smoker box. It was expensive but it was definitely worth the money. In fact, I couldn't recommend any other grill brand besides Weber.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I have a Brinkman Pro Series 4425 and the slats that cover the burners constantly get grease on them and then I constantly get flare ups and get the most unevenly cooked food. It really sucks, I dont know how to prevent it besides cleaning the slats every single time. Caveat emptor

I'm too lazy. The convenience and ease of use of gas just fits our situation better.

I'm probably going to pick something up this weekend as I have my parents and one sister coming next week and grilling is a nice excuse to escape for a bit.

Five years and counting with my Weber, no problems thus far.

For that price, you should be able to get a nice one for sure. I picked up a Kenmore 3-burner from Sears during their Memorial Day sale for about $200 (grill only, add in propane, cover, tax) and I'm happy with it thus far -- we'll see how it holds up. It's my first gas grill, so I didn't want to go all out. Incidentally, Sears latest ad has the same grill "on sale" for $250...

And CB, don't worry, I kept my little old charcoal grill for special occasions... like slow cooked BBQ ribs. Mmmmmm, ribs....

I actually went low cost again...just couldn't leverage a big investment. I ended up picking a "Master Forge" on the cheap at Lowe's, though it does have four burners, a rotisserie burner, and both a side and sear burner. Seemed a lot sturdier than the Char-Broil's and others there (save the Weber).

Assuming no more freak accidents, it should last a while as I do take good care of grills. The BBQ-Source forum impressions were generally positive but wary.

At least I'll be able to escape outside to cook again!

Why you'd want to go outside in this weather is beyond me!

                          Enjoy the grill!

                            Weber Genesis.

I cook everything on that grill including the Prime Rib for Christmas dinner.

If you can't grill it, you shouldn't eat it. Thats my motto.

My condo complex has rules against having grills on the patio, fire hazard. Sucks, cause the gas grills they give us for free are pretty crappy, but better than nothing. I miss having my own decent gas grill that I could really dial in the heat on.
