    Sports Management

I am looking to go to a 4 year college/university in the future for some sort of business management. Then I want to go to graduate school for a Bachelors in Sports Management. I was just wondering if anyone else here has studied Sports Management and is successful now. What is your job with Sports Management and do you think it's worth studying or will it be hard to find a job. Thanks.

im currently studying Sports Management and minor with public relations and marketing at Towson University and plan on getting Masters from Georgetown University

my friend who lives with me has graduated and has interned for both the washington nationals and washington redskins and he is just looking at different offers waiting for the right one for him to accept

you dont really make alot of money with a sports management degree unless you bust your butt off like no other

    - IT ALL DEPENDS WITH WHO YOU KNOW IN HOW YOU CAN BE SUCCESFUL IN THIS BUSINESS...they get you the connections but you also have to bust you butt off during the intership to get respect

I've heard Ohio State is good for that. Just what I heard, worth researching.

Bowling Green is one of the best schools for sports management, as is Ohio U. I applied to both because that was my major at the time.

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't Ohio U. boast a large amount of professional coaches?

              Re: Sports Management

I had Ohio U, Ohio St., and Michigan on my list for graduate schools. Ohio U looks great. I just want to get the best education so i can get a high paying job doing something sports related preferably managing a sports team. But first I have to complete my 4 years in the undergraduate program.

JJLinn did you switch your majors? If so, why did you quit studying Sports Management?

Change of heart for one and change of schools, two. The school I'm at now doesn't have a SM program. I'm in medical imaging now.

Boras and Rosenhaus are both lawyers who went to law school, not Sports Management majors.

Really? I thought they had Sports Management but I could be wrong. Thanks for pointing that out.

If you're big into sports management, you should get an MBA and take classes in sports management. Most MBA programs offer those classes nowadays.

                              Don't waste your time.

My Sports mgmnt degree is worth bupkiss. I worked for 2 pro sports teams, and later got a grad degree in sports journalism and new media. lead to jobs at TSN and Sportsnet here in Canada. There is ZERO money in it unless you are on the air. Otherwise its HIGH STRESS for crap pay and crappier hours. Sports happen at night, weekends and holidays. It's great if your a single guy but even then it can get old. I have tons of friends that still work at both places but most are always looking to get out.

Your business degree is worth way more.
