    Perfect Pushup?

I'm thinking of buying this and was wondering if any OSers have any experience with this? I'm looking at buying cheap home exercising equipment that is worth using. And if not does anyone have any suggestions on other home exercising equipment..thanks.

Not my thing but a trainer buddy/wrestler of mine who's currently living in the boonies uses them and the perfect pull up to keep up his build.

And there is always a set lying around in the locker room for a pre match pump.

i use them. i think they work, i know that if i max out on push-ups i fail way sooner when using them, so it seems that they are making me work harder i guess. there is a report online about a study that showed you do work your secondary muscles (arms, shoulders, etc) more when using them as opposed to a standard push-up. you can get knock off set (i bought them for use at work) for around $10-$15. pick some up and try them...

You can try my old-school perfect push-ups if you have a set of dumbbells at home.

You do the push-ups with the dumbbells in your hand, it allows you to go deeper into the pushup. You can variate them with the dumbbells wider, closer, and hand position can be facing in/out, etc.

It obviously helps if the dumbbells have the blocky/flat surfaces as opposed to the round ones, though they work too. Also, with a few set of dumbbells, you can do tons of exercises, combined with push-ups and crunches you can have a gym body without going to the gym.

I have a pair but I prefer to just do my pushups flat on the ground. Way more comfortable on the palm of the hands.

Its good but there are a few different variations of pushups and each works a different part of your arm. Also Remember to do each pushup correctly, alot of people just end up humping the ground. The First Set of pics is the Army Standard for pushups, which is pretty universal. If you follow the rules for each set, you will get just as much out than doing Perfect Pushups. One thing i can brag about is being able to do alot of pushups...

You can also make fists and do pushups on your fists. You get the same elevation as the Perfect Pushup and do not have to spend the money. Also keeps you from injuring your wrists which can happen when doing palms flat pushups.

There is also a website called hundredpushups.com that gives you a 6 week program that helps you work up to doing 100 pushups non stop. I am going to be starting it tomorrow but doing hindu pushups instead.

I would not suggest buying a home exercise equipment. IMO you don't get the same feel as being in the gym for 2 hours.

Interesting site there. You could do like I did though if you want to knock out 100 plus in less than 2 minutes or so. Join the Army!!!

I never did break the 100 pushup mark in 2 minutes, but I did knock out between 70-85 which was still 100 points.

I was going to when I graduated from high school in 92. I was over the weight limit to get in by 30 pounds. My recruiter offered to go running with me everyday to get the weight off. I did not bother. I wish I did back then though. I would be 4 years away from having 20 in if I did.

My Opinion is, save your money. If you do the pushups I suggested then you will not need to shell out 20 bucks.

Thanks for recommending this site. I've been looking for a good plan to start working out, outside of the gym. I'm going to start this tomorrow. After the initial test it said I should start on the Week 4 regiment, but I may opt for the Week 3..I've slacked off all summer after school with going to the gym.
