Try the Blue Ridge mountains in North Carolina. It's really peaceful, there's tons of parks, white water rafting, hiking, fishing, etc. I dunno if you're an outdoors type of person, but they have a lot of tourist-friendly activities, where you don't exactly have to be an expert to have a good time. It might start getting a little cold if you wait too long into the Fall to go, but it's a different experience from the typical big-city, pay for everything, eat and sight-see that you get in a lot of places.

If you're looking for something easy, though, a Cali trip is cool. San Fran has Alcatraz, good parks and museums, great views (The Cliff House for lunch is incredible, try and get a window table), just a ton of stuff you can do.

Highly suggest Jackson Hole, by the Grand Tetons. (not those tee-tons). Great time in the summer, camping, fishing and white water rafting. A great...cheap time.

Just came from the Dominican Republic, not really trying to do another "beachy" type spot.

I am leaning towards San Antonio

San Antonio's a nice spot but in the summer it's hot as hell. It's a good tourist spot for 2-3 days.

Good thing he wants to go in september. It is hotter than hell in summer though, I agree with that.

You should check out a Missions game if you go down there, it was a nice experience. We also saw some big military cargo planes doing tranining exercises.
