Re: The story of prisoner F95488
Well, I can't say anything definitively, since I don't trust reporters to write anything w/o a slant to it.
But if the victim has doubts as to what exactly happened, if she can't remember anything, & there is no sexual evidence, I don't see how 12 people could claim they have zero resonable doubt.
Stuff like this is why I always leave the patient's door open, when I go in a woman's room particularly.Originally posted by VP Richard M. NixonI always remember that whatever I have done in the past, or may do in the future, Duke University is responsible one way or the other.
Thanks, dookies! -

Re: The story of prisoner F95488
That is crazy. If those are the facts, either the lawyer was terrible or the judge and jury were. The judge set the case up, the prosecution proceeded without a good case because they had to charge someone, and the police misused their power to get him to come in to begin with.
No evidence on him at all, she claims she punched him, and the bite marks not matching by one dentist, so he wasn't used, and the other claiming he couldn't rule him out. Her blood alcohol level was around .29, crazy. Where were the charges against her? She obviously was drinking under age and already had a DUI, they need to get her off the streets before she kills someone with her car or kills herself with alcohol.Comment

Re: The story of prisoner F95488
These ludicrous double standards for men and women still occur.
I mean this girl seemed like some trash, wearing some dirty underwear that had semen stains in it...
Racism is still ripe in our country. This story reminds me of Genarlow Wilson.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

He should have pressed charges against her for sexual assault since her skin cells were on his junk and they weren't from inside her body.Comment

Re: The story of prisoner F95488
Doe continued, "I saw him, like, feel around -- take off his belt -- or something on his pants -- I don't know." She said she remembered being penetrated, and "it felt like a penis." Barron asked if the attacker was the same person she'd played beer pong with. Doe said that while she couldn't recall going to the beach, she remembered the attacker's accent, his eyes ("They were white") and his lips ("They're big"). She was also fairly confident that the rape lasted "15 minutes at the most… but then, since there's that huge chunk of time that I don't remember, it could be anything."

Re: The story of prisoner F95488
At the risk of sounding sexist, I think that the "sex education" about rape, date rape , and unwanted touching etc, has touched off this idea that most sex is bad sex...and all rape accusers say that same line "he's the man who ruined my life..." because they see it on TV.
This is NOT to say that women shouldn't be taught proper boundaries, but they should be taught what happens in this day and age to a man who's falsely accused, and what happens when they get bad lawyers...
Also they should be taught that because a woman wishes they hadn't done something, doesn't make it a crime. Buyer's remorse is not a crime.Comment

Hopefully this article gets it some attention. I think another judge can step in if it's obvious the jury made a decision based on personal beliefs and not the evidence at hand.Comment
