We had 2 rabbits at my parents house. The one of them started having seizures. It was really worrisome. He's just start shaking and fall over. Took him to the Vet and there was really nothing we can do for him.
Then after the 2nd year, rabbit #2 was acting sort of non-social one night. The next morning he was in his bed. They said he died of a heart attack. They were inside and not outside with the extreme NC heat, so this sucked.
Non traditional animals pose such a risk.... Then again, Cats and Dogs can have things happen out of the blue too. Life.
That really sucks for your girlfriend.
