Exactly. I think the comparisons to PH and KK are not good. EA did not "take it" on film. She was doing something everyone does as part of a daily routine, unaware of Peeping Tom outside her door. What is ESPN gonna do? Ummm..Erin..your fired! Hell, on CNN the other night Erin Andrews was the top searched topic of the day.

She is still young, but you know every year hundreds of other younger hotties are sending in resumes to ESPN. Surely she has higher aspirations than "sideline reporter". I can see her getting a nightly news/call in show on cable. Host of a "talent reality show". Or maybe Hollywood is her goal. They don't give a damn about stuff like this in Hollywood.

Creepiest thread I can remember on OS.

But I have to say she should have learned why there has never been a Tobias Funke: Analrapist video of this sort. Nevernudes don't have this problem.

The only one of those thats feasible is 4. With #1, there is no way this would be the reason for her getting a show. Like I said before, she has plenty of examples of other ESPN sports personalities just doing their jobs and getting national shows. So no reason she wouldnt be able to do the same thing.

With #2, she could have done that easier by competing on Dancing w/ the Stars then with a fake peeping tom tape. She's been asked several times to appear on that show and has turned it down and that show is a springboard to middle america and non sports fans getting to know you.

#3, if you knew how much Lifetime pays for those movies...you wouldnt have even put this here. They pay anywhere from 5 to 50 k for the rights to your story. Nothing to make EA risk her career.

#5, she would have made more money from a spread before the video leaked and it would pretty much end any hopes she has of being a serious journalist...sports or otherwise.

Now the speaker's circuit is a possibility but its a small one. No sane person would risk ruining their career (and criminal charges if she filed a false police report) just for a few 50k speeches about a subject no one will care about in 2 weeks.

That's actually the case for just about every "celebrity" sex tape that's come out.

Actually it isnt. No one thinks they will parlay a sex tape into a network news gig or talk show. The only other examples we have are Kim K and Paris and they werent looking to anchor the NBC Nightly News.

Because it would be a paycut. Reality stars dont make more than ESPN reporters.

                            Re: Erin Andrews

I really like the fact that ESPN is aggressive about this:
ESPN bans New York Post reporters from its outlets.

ESPN is striking back against the New York Post.

One day after the New York tabloid ran images from a hidden camera video of ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews nude, both on its front page and in an online story, ESPN has announced that it will "stop utilizing Post reporters on any" of its various outlets.

ESPN Senior VP of Communications Chris LaPlaca told Newsday that the decision was not taken lightly, but the New York Post's actions "went well beyond the boundaries of common decency in the interest of sensationalism."

New York Post reporters Kevin Kernan and Lenn Robbins had been regulars on ESPN First Take, and "beat writers from various sports sometimes are interviewed [on New York's 1050 ESPN Radio] or other stations."

While the New York Post aired images of the video, CBS and FOX News Channel actually "used snippets of the video itself" during coverage of the story. Though LaPlaca called such actions "beyond the pale," ESPN will not be taking action against either organization, as it "does not regularly employ those networks' personnel."

It should be pointed out that CBS has removed videos of The Early Show's news report on the Andrews story -- which included portions of the hidden camera video -- from CBS.com and YouTube. Whether that move was a result of a decision from within CBS or the threat of legal action is unknown.

I didn't say she wanted to be on reality television, but that a bunch of reality television whores tried to cash in on the Paris Hilton train as well.

She's stuck in a dead end job and needed something.

Its not a dead end job. Melissa Stark did sideline reporting and she is on MSNBC as an anchor. Hannah Storm was a sideline reporter and went to Sportscenter, CBS' Early Show and back to SC. Robin Roberts went from ESPN to Good Morning America. No reason Andrews couldnt do something like that.
