    Ant problem

My brother just recently bought a house, and outside there is a pretty big ant problem. The yard was not kept at all, so there is a lot of dirt so they are thriving. There are also sand fleas.

We need something really powerful(no gas and burning everything down). He has a dog and of course doesn't want him getting fleas or into ants.

Look up some borax mixtures, you can make it yourself and then the ants will eat it and take it back to the queen and die. I think it pet friendly, don't know about the fleas though.

Our terminte company also sprays for bugs. Works great and we never see any bugs in the house. Used to get ants inside and in the yard.

          Believe it or not. Windex.

Spray up to 3 times a day and they will go away.

I'd hire a professional if it's really that bad...you may do ok on your own but with a pro you're guaranteed to find the real nests and whatnot.

Those ants always come back. We hired a pro and they came back 2 weeks later. Aint worth the $ imo.

True but that stuff is expensive. Not only does it kill them though but it gets rid of the scent trails they follow around.

Can't you use the knockoff versions of Windex? Or do they not get the job done?

I'm sure you can use knockoff as well. Windex is more of a localized problem solver though...like you leave food out and ants have a nice little trail into your kitchen.

If you live over an ant colony it's gonna take a whole lot more.

We had bad ants in our previous rental home. We used this stuff called Terro or Tero that we got from either Lowe's or Home Depot. It's clear and syrupy and in little plastic containers that you place in your home or outside. They LOVE the stuff, line up to eat it and take it back to the nests. Problem was over in two weeks.

Yup, worked like a charm in my old apartment. Sprayed where they were coming in and they never came back.
