You know what I find more interesting than that?

That this planet is 1,000 light years away, and we've discovered it... That's just ****ing insane that we can see so far into space.

" NASA's Kepler space observatory is using the same technique to search for Earth-like worlds."

Even if they found a "Earth" like world, I HIGHLY doubt they would release that information to the public.

They've found a few "blue planets" that they think are candidates.. I remember reading about one a few months ago. Not like we can reach any of them in our lifetimes though, at least without some MAJOR physics leaps in the next 20-30 years... no reason to cover up finding planets 5000 lightyears away.

I can't even wrap my head around the idea of space. Whenever you think you have it figured out somewhat, there's always another question. I'll let the professionals do their jobs and try to figure out the universe (and beyond).

But this is pretty cool. This is the first one, eh? I feel like this could mess up some rules...

Space is infinity. Even if there is nothing past a certain point...Nothing is something lol.

And infinity light years exist. That's the scary thing.

Pretty much. Even something that is just 1000 light years away, like this backwards planet, is too far away for people to concern themselves with. Even if we could somehow build a ship that could travel at the universal speed lmit it would take 1000 years to get to that planet. It's just not feasible. Now if we could find a way to use worm holes that would be a different story, but that technology does not exist.
