I think if you take a modified approach to Atkins, you are ok. I'm not talking about devouring steak, lobster melted with butter, or greasy cheeseball pizza, either. Also, it's the first two weeks that your body goes without fruit, then you add the G.I. index of fruit including berries and apples.
Atkins is mostly about getting rid of complex carbs and refined carbs and sugars. That's the good part of the lifestyle. I just don't agree with the all inclusive saturated fats you can eat on it.
I eat all the chicken and fish that is recommended.
I'm reading a book currently titled Good Calorie, Bad Calorie. I'm only in the first chapter, but sounds like the book is big time against eating low fat high carb meals.
