Which automated restroom facilities do you like/dislike?

Going to a mall or the airport or something, everything is automated. Not just the toilets and hand dryers, but the faucets and the soap and paper towel dispensers as well. It annoys the hell out of me when I'm waving my hand vigorously in front of the paper towel dispenser for it to not to anything because they only give us one useless sheet to dry our hands with. Heck, I've even seen automated garbage lids (why they have lids is beyond me) and automated entry doors. They are random, out of place, but most of all lazy.

Now I understand it's to try and maintain sanitarization when leaving the restroom, but sometimes I think it is too much. I've sat on toilets that malfunction and flush while I'm sitting on it (I'm sure you can picture some of the things it does as it flushes while I'm on it).

Are other people just not bothered by these things, especially when they don't work and there's no manual option?

Towel dispenser pisses me of too. Giving you one sheet at a time and getting the stupid sensor to go off again is a pain... give me the manual version

I also hate the automated paper towel dispensers. The automated faucets annoy me too, because they'll turn off while I'm washing my hands.

I figured out a trick to those annoying auto paper towel dispensers. (Talk about being lazy, it seems like you could get more faster with a manual version)

As the piece is coming out, there are some machines that let you keep pulling it.

Yeah I don't like the faucets. They don't even give you five seconds on those things. Then there would be a long delay before it comes on again. So you're standing there looking like a fool waving your hand in front of the sensor just to get the water running... by the time the water turns back on your hands would already be air dried from all that waving.

I don't like the automatic stalls. I am doing my business, lean forward to wipe and it goes off. I am fine with those being manual because I can use my foot, but I also know other people will just leave.

It's not the sensor faucets that drive me nuts...it's those ones with the button or lever you push down that are supposed to stay on for 5-10 seconds. However, they always stop after you let go. HOW THE CRAP ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO WASH BOTH HANDS?!?!?

We have these at the high school I teach at and it drives me nuts...especially when they're making the push to stay clean due to H1N1.

The toilets will flush after a certain length of time even if you don't move. I think it in case something is blocking the sensor.

The paper towels actually waste more paper. The 1 piece is never enough, but then you don't need 2 full pieces. You end up wasting the 2nd half when you could have gotten the right length doing it yourself.

I hate the automatic paper towel thing but I like the auto-dryer that you stick your hands in a "slowly" pull out while they get blasted with heat.

I haven't had too much trouble with the sinks or urinals, however. I've never had to take a dump in public so I wouldn't know about the automated toilet problem after letting the bombs drop.

I like it when it's all automated - it saves me the need to touch all that stuff, which is better to avoid these days.
Oh, and for some reason I like the "foam" soap. There are some wash rooms (Especially at Zellers stores) where the soap is kinda like a foam. I don't know why, but I just like it...go figure...

Those drive me crazy too. You end up having to attempt to wash one hand at a time, and it never quite works.

Big fan of automated doors...After I've washed my hands, I just cringe having to touch a handle that people who haven't washed have used all day.

I hate that also. If it is not automatic I use the paper towel to open it and then throw it out, because almost every time I use the Restroom at the mall I work in I see at least 1 person leave w/out washing their hands.
                          Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

I'm not too fond of the mechanical arm that shakes your wang when you've done your piss. Very uncomfortable.

At work all we have is the automated faucets. Occasionally at home I find myself swiping my hand underneath my faucet and wondering why the water isn't turning on.

I don't mind the paper towel dispensers so much. At work ours are calibrated pretty well and give enough paper to work with. They just malfunction fairly often.
