I tell you family will do you worse than a random person on the streets sometime. That's why I don't do the loaning thing to family members anymore,unless it's one of my brothers or sisters. I've loaned money to cousins before and they'd stop speaking to me when I asked them about it. And then they talk about me with others like "I can't believe he had the nerve to ask me for that money"

It's one of those situations where you hate to be like that,but you'll know better the next time.

Well yea the kid went through a hell of a ordeal. But he is for from brain damaged. He knows right and wrong. He knows what he did. I would not physically beat him down, even though with all my might it will take me to restrain myself from doing it. I know that would be wrong.

Jake he was texting me telling me. Once I started getting mad and texting saying he better fix this right now is when he just stopped texting and kinda of bitched out and is hiding now.

I might not beat his *** to a pulp but I am going to make damn sure he has a repercussion from this. I am going to get in his face, maybe put him against a wall but he will get my point there will be no next time.

OK, I thought he was mentally handi-cpped after the incident. I think you can get your point that there will be no next time by just ignoring him for the foreseeable future and telling him bluntly, "You're dead to me. Was it worth the $70?"

Normally I would say that would work. But this cat needs something done more serious.

He had the nerve I just saw on his myspace to put this. I am going to censor it some.

This post alone I know is directed to me and this just gives me every feeling of just putting him in the dirt now. Now he thinks he is playing games. I am gonna have to hurt this kid.

You have to handle your business how you think is best. But if you can just let it go and banish the fool you'll be better off.

Phobia, if I was in your situation I'd just threaten to call the police. If he still doesn't give the money back, actually call them. Like you said, his story is full of holes, and the police should straighten it out.

Either that or scare the **** out of him like you said you would.

Can't you just chalk it up as a lesson learned? Let's be real here: Would go beat him down if some guys on the 'net told you it was ok? How would you feel after? You'd still be out of money. The fact that he's fam makes this difficult.

I had a real close friend who had a brain Injury in Iraq and when that happens you are not the same person. Chalk it up to a $70 mistake, lesson learned, and quit worrying about it.

I know guys. Like I said the money really is not the issue. It is the pride part of him playing me like a fool. I don't know maybe I am old school in the fact I believe you disrespect another man and you should expect reprocussions. I know it is wrong to beat him to the ground and I know I should not let him get to me and just walk away and wash my hands of it. Take the loss, lessoned learned. but DAMN is it hard. Every part of my body wants to put him in the ground. It is my personality, who I am. I am the nicest, most given, kinda hearted person. But you cross me and you will see a man you never thought existed.

Another thing you need to think about is, if he really needs money and is desperate enough to steal from you. He may press charges and sue you if you lay a hand on him. Dont let him bait you into hitting or threatening him. JUST LET IT GO.

Yea that is how they are. You can tell alot by a mans character when they are pushed into a corner. Do they fold and crumble or do they stand up and take responsibility.

Like I told him in a text. "I don't know why you trying to dodge me. I WILL run into for sure." I mean this Thanksgiving, X-mas, etc. I will come face to face with him. I would LOVE to back him into a corner against a wall at that point. No more running, now you got to face the repercussions. Does he man up and take it or does he coward out and not show up at the events. I think he won't show.

Maybe and most likely...the kid is lying to you.
But what if someone saw him reaching into his pocket...and putting something in the bin?
Then you're ruining your family relationship over 70 bucks......SEVENTY.
Give the kid the free-O and consider it a 100 dollar mow.
He could probably use the break.
Him knowing that you know what happened....I don't think it will ever come up again.

Put it to him this way.
Because he is family...you're giving him the benefit of doubt.....if it was anyone else...you would have already thrown down......shake his hand and let it go.
