Re: Advice about a theif
Well I am done. I sent my last text to him.
"Since you continue to duck me. I am going to let this go. But don't call me, don't try and contact me. I am done. You ruined a family relationship over 70 bucks. One day you gonna realize friends are hard to come by. U don't treat friends like this much less family. I trusted you and you ****** me. Good luck"
You did right Phobia IMO.
You let him go but still laid it out there.
What else could you really do?(without going to a little extreme with a family member)

Lmao if you think the cops would even bother with this.
You lent him money basically. This stuff happens everyday.
I'm guessing if he's blown through a ton of money and coming off of pain meds etc that he has an abuse problem as well as some issuse with life in general.
A mix of depression and drug abuse can make you do dumb things to friends and family.
Chalk it up to lesson learned and cut him off intervention style.

Re: Advice about a theif
That's ****ed up.
But honestly, not much you can do. You can tell if the guy is lying to you or not. Judging by his behavior (ducking you), he's lying and did take it. So now he took your money, and he lied to you about it. No sympathy. So you can ask for it back but it's likely already gone. If someone steals from family, you better believe it's already gone and it's more then likely drug-related.
Don't kick his ***. That may only cause problems for you. But don't let it go either. I'm all for second chances and whatnot, but the guy doesn't deserve one. You can say mean things when you're angry, heck, get into a fistfight or something, and make up. But stealing from someone... nah man, that's a conscious thing right there. He made up his mind he was going to take this money. He's a low life loser and the only solace you can take in this fact is that he's going to get his. And when he needs a hand because he's ****ed up, he won't get one because that bridge has been burned.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
