    Repetitive Dreams

Anyone else have the same kind or same themed dreams?

I find that probably once a month I have one of two types of dreams. In these dreams, I am either late for baseball practice or unprepared for a test.

The situation changes almost every time. It's never the same baseball team, but always for a coach that I have played for in either high school, legion or college.

And as far as the test goes, it's never a class that was important to me or even with a teacher/professor that I remember, but it's always college. However, the dream itself is usually pretty close. I show up to the classs and am just completely unprepared for the test. Sometimes, I just forgot to study and sometimes I didn't even know I was signed up for the class and all of a sudden I am handed this test.

In both situations I am just extremely frustrated and feel completely helpless. When I finally wake up, I usually am completely relieved that the stress is gone.

Anyone else have any sort of reoccuring dream?

Nobody will believe me but I always have this dream each month. I dream about this bird/man which the flesh is made out of Iron and his feathers are made out of blades. He carries 2 swords and he always kills my family and friends. He has never tried to kill me...He just seems to love to make me feel emotional pain. I can control any dream but that one...And his appearance never changes.

About 4 or 5 times a year I dream something along these lines...it may change slightly, but the gist of it is the same...

I get a call/letter from my High School saying mistakes were made on my/and others of my class transcripts and we have to attend like 2 more classes to officially graduate from high school. Even though I have a college degree, they say my HS Diploma has been revoked until I successfully complete like Home Ec and a Government course.

In my dream, me a many others of my class of '89 are attending a class or two at my old high school. It is a kinda fun dream actually.

Sometimes I'll have the same themed dreams two nights in a row, and they're usually very similar to the night before.

When I was a kid I used to have the same dream all the time, I was at my grandma's house and I was in the car by myself and there were a bunch of zombie skeletons coming after me. I would end up rolling down the hill(which is weird because there is no hill at my grandmas) and then after that I can't remember what I would do. But I had that dream all the time when I was younger.

When I was younger I had this dream about 4-5 times a year.

I'm going to elementary school and my mom drops me off. I get to class and everyone is in there and all of a sudden everyone starts laughing. I look around and then look at myself and see that I'm naked.

I hated waking up, but afterwards I laughed, too.

I once had a dream that I ate a giant marshmallow, and when I woke up my pillow was missing

...but seriously, I used to dream about tornadoes all the time. Sometimes it would seem like they were coming from every direction. I used to have those dreams a lot.

I have a lot of sports related dreams, that always end badly. I had one for the RU/FIU game where Rutgers was down 35-0 no more than 3 minutes into the game.

I have recurring dream...haven't had it in a while. I'm being chased by something. I used to wake up in cold sweats. Now I just pull a Neo from the Matrix and get away but it's always a close call.

I feel like I'm supposed to be above that joke, but I'm not, ha.

I once dreamed I scored 26 first quarter points while wearing a diamond studded Michael Jackson glove on my shooting hand.

My only recurring dream is the one where I finally catch up to the woman who has always eluded me in real life. The dream is always so perfect. I'm always so content. I can never believe that it actually finally happened. Then I wake up, realize none of it was real, and my day is ruined.

Edit: On second look, maybe I should have used different wording than "catch", "woman", and "eluded". It makes me sound like a serial rapist. But I meant it in a romantic fashion. . .like the proverbial "one that always got away".

I have two themes that pop up often:

                      1) partying with my friends
                      2) playing basketball

The weird thing about both dreams is that I'm never able to walk/stand up well, and for the basketball dreams, I can't ever dribble or look up. I've only had one basketball dream where I've been able to actually see the basket and be able to dribble and shoot like normal.

Absolutely nothing worse than waking up from one of those perfect dreams only to realize that everything you thought you just had is gone. It can leave a pretty empty feeling that lingers for a bit.

                          Re: Repetitive Dreams

I used to have a recurring nightmare after watching the Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers Looney Tunes cartoon.

I would be watching a Roadrunner/Wile E. Coyote episode, but the Roadrunner would explode. Then Wile E. Coyote would hold up a sign that said "Victory!" and take a bite out of one of the pieces of the blown up Roadrunner, and explode. Then somehow, I'd be right there, and eat a bit of the exploded Wile E. Coyote. I also exploded.

I didn't sleep well for like a year and a half because of that dream. But now, it doesn't seem so bad. Oh well.

I don't dream much any more, and if I do, I don't remember it.

I don't dream, I just sleep, should I be concerned?

My wife is always telling me these funny/crazy dreams she has, and I'm always like "I never dream of anything".

She says I just don't remember them.

I'm the same way. I don't think it's a bad thing. Maybe I'm not getting enough REM sleep or whatever, but I seem to be fine.
