You've got to be kidding me. How about a grilled chicken sandwich from McD's with a wheat bun, lettuce, tomato, and no cheese vs a meatball sub with cheese? Which one is healthier? Your argument was terrible.

Since when has wheat bread become as bad as sugar carbs or something? Not all carbs are created equal as the mainstream media wants people to believe. Wheat bread is not terrible for and certainly is healthier than white bread.

I'm not sure what type of wheat bread they have there. The only wheat bread that counts is 100% wheat bread. All those other type of multi-grain and wheat breads are fake. I'm assuming for cost reasons Subway uses fake wheat bread, which is just like regular white bread.

Personally I only go to Subway about 2 times each week and buy the turkey breast sub. I certainly feel much better about eating that than if I was eating at Mcdonalds.

Yes because of the perceptions people have of both. People equate Subway with a healthy food choice and McDonalds as a poor food choice. You can get healthy food choices at BOTH places.

I do agree however that alot of the people I see in Subway who do buy the unhealthier subs or add a bunch stuff that turns a healthier sub into an unhealthier one. The second one kinda defeats the purpose of choosing Subway over Mcdonalds.

That's why people love Subway. They can go in there and get their meatball sub from Subway with chips and a soda and feel better than buying a couple burgers from McDonald's due to the public opinion that Subway is healthy.
    Points in bold.

Bottom line: Subway is more popular because it is perceived as a healthy fast food restaurant, when in actuality McD's offers just as healthy selections. Obviously there are more unhealthy choices at McD's.

Anyone going to Subway "thinking", by ordering a Philly Cheese steak or Meatball sub, that they're eating healthy is grossly misinformed.

Yes. That is no better than a double cheeseburger at McD's and a reg fry/soda.

If you go there and get something from the 7 subs/7 grams of fat or less, get a footlong you, double the fat grams you're still getting a healthier option than most combo meals at McD's.

Otherwise you might as well go to McD's, and at least save a buck or two because you're getting the same amount of fat/calories from a Philly Cheese/Meatball as a Big Mac.
