How long did it take you to decide a major?
I am in year 2 of community college, so I know I still have time to choose. But I have no idea what I should major in. My dad is a computer science major and my brother a computer information systems(4 years for both). Nothing really interest me though, I am a big computer nerd, but watching my brother do what he does(works for a major state college) it just seems like it would get old fast. I've also considered, to myself haven't said this to anyone, psychology and economics. I've always been good at listening to people whine and giving my advice and I am a cheap *** that saves up his money.Tags: None -

I chose my major the second I was asked by an adviser half way through my sophomore year. It was between psychology and criminal justice, but I said government.

I wish I hadn't been such an idiot my freshman year and stuck to engineering, but there's nothing I can do now (except waste tens of thousands more dollars) -

Re: How long did it take you to decide a major?
That's just insane. I paid $2000 for 2 years of community college and I finished with an Associates' Degree. From there I transferred to The University of Texas, pay my 25000 (tuition, fees, books and housing) there and guess what? My degree says The University of Texas on it.
Money saved = $23000. POW!Last edited by ScoobySnax; 09-24-2009, 11:53 AM.PSN: xxplosive1984Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Fool me three times, **** the peace sign, load the chopper let it rain on you.

It's not that easy. I had a 3.75 GPA throughout community college. Also, they still take into account you SAT/ACT scores as well. This is The University of Texas at Austin. Longhorns FTW!
By the way, it doesn't kill academic prestige if you can succeed while there. If I was a bum, I could see that maybe. Community College is a viable option for anyone looking to save a little change. That definitely worked for me. Peace.Last edited by ScoobySnax; 09-24-2009, 12:02 PM.PSN: xxplosive1984Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Re: How long did it take you to decide a major?
Every public school is easy to get into by transferring from community college, especially in state.
The only exceptions I can think of would be GTech, UVA, William and Mary, and the academies, and those would mostly be due of the very limited enrollments.Comment

After my second semester of my freshman year I just decided to stick with supply chain management.Last edited by BoomerSooner11; 09-26-2009, 03:02 PM.11-2Comment
