OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
as much as i used to look forward to this month due to Madden releasing a month prior & NBA2k releasing this month... i am thoroughly frustrated to my core this year!
both games have been released already and it doesn't look like we'll be able to correctly start our franchises in either game due to gross issues with that mode among many other truly awful oversights that will not be patched until late October/early November.
we all tweak things here & there but to purchase a game & not be able to enjoy the mode that you intended to play for a month or more is totally unacceptable! they should be held much more accountable instead of praised for thier "patches".
yeah we love the baseball games but nothing has the anticipation that the Madden & the basketball series' have. we watch all NFL games & get hyped up to play Madden & we read all the headlines & watch the NBA preseason games & are just seething to start our franchises but are left with our baseball game (if we play that series)
MY QUESTION IS... SHOULD A GAME BE FULL PRICE IF THE MODES THAT YOU PLAY ARE UNPLAYABLE FOR A MONTH OR LONGER? how is that okay? i know that with all the technology now, games will have to be patched after release but i do have a problem with an unplayble franchise mode due to stat issues, ratings/tendencies not working, missing players, & franchise/association bugs/glitches that keep you from playing it until it's patched!43yes - why should i have to wait after spending $640%25no - i understand the trial & error process with my $640%7who cares0%11Tags: None -

Preach Brotha, preach! I too completely understand your frustration. The patch "video game culture" that is currently in place is not ideal for long term success. We, the end users should not be the beta testers.STRATEGYHUSTLERESULTS -
Re: OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
I agree, patches should be for 'headband colors' not figuring out why my players are invisible. Some of the issues that are happening with Madden/Live/2K10 should of been noticed at first glance. By the time they fix it your excitement for the game is toned down. Then these mistakes make you aware of others in the game and eventually snowballing your frustration. I'm personally done buying games on release day and will probably wait until it's patched and buy it used. I've bought NCAA/MADDEN/2K10/FIGHT NIGHT but yet I play COD4 most of the time. I normally don't complain but I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired...#WashedGamerComment

Re: OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
I've started a franchise on Madden but, was frustrated to no end so it's on hold for now. I'll give it another go after patch 2.
And I chose Live this year and I'm not frustrated at all, just yet. Well, except for the fact that I'm 0-4, so far in my Suns Franchise but, i guess that another story all together.
My advice is to find someway to pass the time til the patchs come out. I normally just play sports games. But, this year I picked up Batman: AA to occupy me until Live or Patch 2 came out. I mean lifes to short to be going around frustrated all the time.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
I agree with you 100%. The culture of sports gaming has changed so much since 2004, the last great year for sports gaming imo. I will say that I am very pleased with NBA Live this year. I think its the first sports game that actually plays well and does what its supposed to do out of the box. Other than that, It just seems that the sports games of the last few years have been pretty much a debacle.
There always seems to be something we have to work around, or make hours of slider adjustments just to make the game playable.
The big thing that makes me want to scream is the fact that certain issues with these games don't get fixed before release. Then when we call the developers on it, a lot of them play dumb.
Its very frustrating being a sports gamer now a days thats for true.Comment

It is stupid that we have to wait for patches that fix errors that should not have been release in the first place, BUT... would you rather they just work on Madden 11 and say f*ck you, you already bought the game and not work on any of the problems?"Yo Soy Fiesta."

Its not just video games...
If a car has a safty issue and has to come in for a safety upgrade do they give you money back, No.
Hell look at any windows OS, It takes years for it actually be functional. Fact is No one is perfect, not even video game companies. The American public accepts this for the most part which is Why companies even bother patching games. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
Its seems like we get less options and more headaches each year. Graphics get upgraded thats a given but at the cost the gameplay becomes almost unplayable.
Why is it that when i play online i feel like im playin a stripped down version when im offline?Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

Re: OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
The game is not unplayable. I don't know why everyone thinks that it is. It has problems, but every game does. Sure, it didn't live up to the hype that Ian and Co. made for it, but it's still the best next-gen Madden to date.
Franchise mode is still fully playable despite the stat issues. Personally I'm not sure why people are so worked up over the stat issue. The one important stat is that W column. If you can win, who cares if your leading tackler only has 70 tackles on the year? To me that just means that me defense as a whole is solid and I'm not relying on one player to make plays all over the field.
I have 2 franchises that are both in year 4, so franchise mode is fully playable and even enjouyable. M10 is the first Madden where I have actually wanted to play a franchise for more than a year.Comment

the game is the best Madden to date BUT those things make the mode unplayable for me. i want realism across the board. not just realism when it comes to tackling animations & pre-game presentation. stats should be something that NEVER comes out of the box screwed up.....
& by the way... there are still plenty of gameplay issues... my whole thing is... if i go buy a Ed Hardy shirt for $65 bucks (hypothetically) & get home & get ready to wear it... i should not find out out at that point that they had not yet put the collar on the shirt!
to everyone who seems to be fine with purchasing a clearly unfinished product; i will be stating my own website dedicated to selling unfinished merchandise & i know i will see you guys there paying full pric at that!... (yeah right...)

Re: OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
why don't the developers fix things from year to year? Every year, a patch is required to make the game somewhat playable. Shouldn't releasing a new product from the year before be the ultimate patch?Comment

Re: OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
Simple, why don't EA let about 50 or so people test the games out before they finish making it because i don't know how they are testing the games but it is definately not working at all.
EA needs to stop this crap about making all these new features just to get more people to buy it.If they only spent the whole time fixing the game. Now once they fix the game then put new features in BUT until then JUST FIX THE GAME EA.This will stay here until the cowboys win the superbowl (wont be too long) Go Cowboys!!Comment

Re: OCTOBER WITH NO FRANCHISE/ASSOCIATION TO PLAY?! WTF?!
What I don't get is, why do you continue (not just you, people in general) to buy the games knowing they have problems that prevent you from enjoying them like you should?
I myself has learned to just deal with it. I know nothing is going to be perfect, and yes, some bugs are HUGE. It just comes down to, can you deal with this problem and enjoy the game for what it is, or is it going to ruin your experience.
As far as calling this a "patch video game culture" I am glad we can get patches. All sports games from the past had something wrong with them and could have used a patch, back then we dealt with it, now all of a sudden we can't?
