Cute puppy. I used to have a chocolate lab named Mocha, but I don't think she would've run to the pool as she refused to go outside and do her business if it was raining. Also had a black lab who loved the water, but he couldn't doggy paddle. His idea of doggy paddling had him basically vertical in the pool slapping the water with his front paws.
My mom's Newf on the other hand would've jumped right in. Funny story. Back in 1989 my family moved to a new house with a pool that took up pretty much the entire back yard. We also had a 6 month old Newfoundland puppy at the time. My dad was planning to tear up and fill in pool then plant grass in the back yard so my sister and I had somewhere to play. At one point when the pool was half empty (there was only water in the deep end) the puppy decided to jump in and start swimming around. I didn't see it and I don't know how my dad got the dog out, though I imagine he had to get in the pool himself to lift him out.
