 re: OS Pups Thread!

He's 25 pounds now. I feed him one medium bowl of lean, dry dog food (some healthy fit type dog food) a day and walk him 2 to 3 times a day for about 10-15 minutes each time. I do feed him table food but i'm going to stop that. I've read that can feed into aggression too.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

just load it up in paint and use the stretch/skew function, then upload it after you've made it smallerStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

no table food for dogs ! Your dog is growling because he thinks he is the alpha. Feeding him table food, sleeping in the bed etc only reinforces what he thinks. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

yeah, you have to be consistent. Keep doing that and do some basic obedience a few times a day (maybe 5 minutes at a time, not long). My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

 re: OS Pups Thread!

last night he only tried to get on the bed twice, i think now he's getting used to sleeping on his pillow. i gave him a big blanket too as he is always cold and i think that was one reason for him wanting on the bed, to get under the covers.

he seems to growl and behave that way more near the end of the day, maybe it's fatigue and he is getting grouchy from it? not sure but i'm going to stick with the program thru christmas and see where we are at after that.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

 re: OS Pups Thread!

ODogg, you definitely need to establish yourself as the leader. Don't let the dog outside until you go out first, don't allow him up on furniture unless he is invited, etc. One place you can establish your dominance is at the food bowl. You need to teach your dog to wait to eat its food until you tell him he can. Pour the food in the bowl but don't let him take it until you command him to. You might have to do some training on a wait command, but that is something you definitely need. Also, this might sound crazy, but after you pour the food in the bowl, take a spoon put it in your mouth, and then stir up his food. It puts your scent on the food and lets him know that is food you are giving him.

 Thanks.

He's been good... mostly Actually I've got some good gifts for them. I bought this dog tent for them to have. It just pops up and down like an umbrella. I've seen a couple people with them at my agility trials and it looks so much easier than dragging a crate around. Also I've collected tons of little stuffed toys the last couple months at agility trials because you win toys and stuff for qualifying runs. My dogs shred through stuffies pretty quick, but they enjoy it so I'm saving it for Christmas. Got them some treats too. Actually I've got some good gifts for them.
