Re: Student Suspended 180 Days For Facebook Message
Yeah, I was thinking it referred to something else too.
That's what I was thinking
Anyways,, 180 days for a FB post . . That's utterly ridiculous. I really don't think its right for schools to be able to punish kids for what they do on their own time outside of school. The exception would be if they were actually caught breaking the law, then the school could have the right to take away priviledges (i.e. ban from competing in athletics, etc.)Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

I'm pretty sure this saying has been around for a long time. I think it means that you're so weak/scared that you couldn't bust a grape. Grapes being easy to bust.
Stupid that the school did this though.
I dunno too much!Comment

The school can act because it involved students at that school. Lets say that somebody got a fractured skull in that fight. If the school was notified by said parents ahead of time and did nothing to prevent it, they are going to get sued. Cyber bullying is not a joke any longer. It's a quick way to get booted out of school.I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....Comment

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Student Suspended 180 Days For Facebook Message
180 days is too harsh. But these days, I couldn't say just because the message was posted elsewhere that the school shouldn't be proactive either. Teens seems to be getting more violent & reckless every day. On the surface, from the family's perspective, this is an overreach. But I'd like to know the other side of the story.-August 17, 1960Originally posted by VP Richard M.
