. As Soon as the FBI labels this as a Terrorist Act, many of our Dumb countrymen will take it upon themselves and Harass Innocent Muslims. After 9/11, Mosques were burned Muslims were targeted because of their Religion, And I do not believe that we have evolved as a country not to do this.
        Couldn't agree more.

I'm not really sure why we all have to walk on eggshells here and "not jump to conclusions." As Ralph Peters said today:

But nobody will, because we're too busy PC-ing ourselves into oblivion. God forbid we offend anyone by calling terrorism terrorism.

Just my opinion but Nidal Malik Hasan unlawfully used force and violence against people with the intention of intimidating societies and government for political reasons… I call that terrorism.

Keep in mind he claimed he was upset with the idea of going to Iraq and having to fight and maybe kill other Muslims,so he decided to MURDER several American soldiers instead. He was upset he might have to shoot extremist Muslims, but it was perfectly OK with him to kill a bunch of American soldiers?

The guy was a doctor and apparently a poor one as he had receive a poor officer review from Walter Reed before being transferred to Ft Hood. He was a doctor, not a medic, so it’s not like this guy was going to be in the trenches fighting the Taliban. He was going to be in the rear with the gear… or as it’s called in the military a REMF (Rear Echelon M.F.)

I see his family is running around saying he loved his country. Really? He was born in America and claimed at his mosque he was Palestinian. Yep that’s love of America, claim your Palestinian, kill a bunch of American soldiers.

The media is now saying that since he was an Army Psychiatrist ,he was suffering from PTSD because he had to hear about the “Horrors of War”. He has never been deployed, never been in combat and the media is claiming PTSD over doing his damn state-side job?

Bottom line. He was a traitor to his oath and he attacked American soldiers on American soil. Death can't come fast enough for this terrorist.
Well Jack, We know very little about this guy right now, I am just saying that by calling this guy a Terrorist, you will rile up the people who go out and burn mosques and kill Muslims because in their head they think they are being Patriotic. I like to stay on the side of caution in times like these because this is going to kill or injure more people indirectly.

Its probably pointless to even say it because the Wheels are in Motion, people know a Muslim killed US Soldiers. Some Idiot is going to go out 2nite and seek revenge.

I will say this though, if this guy Acted alone (which it appears he did) The Army will be breathing a huge sigh of Relief. Could you Imagine the outcry is a Terrorist had actually infiltrated the US Military and carried out an attack like this? It is entirely possible too, When you join the Army, there is no real History check. If your name has never popped up on a FBI Watch list, then you could easily carry something like this out.

I think it's a little bit of terrorism (definately not the way we think of it though) and alot of a single guy just going apecrap.

Simply put, there are not enough Majors, LTC's, or Colonel's in the Army. They even hurt for Captains (which is why you automatcally make CPT after 3 years from commissioning).

You can really only do one thing and that's dramatically shrink the size of the Army which is an impossibility these days.

I disagree. Terrorist actions rile people up. I can do nothing but hope any idiots attacking innocent people are quickly caught and prosecuted.

I personally like to "Keep it real" and decipher what I've been told by soldiers and family at the scene of the attack. The only difference from this attack and the one Abdulhakim Muhammad pulled off in Little Rock, Arkansas was the scale. IMO both attacked and killed US Army soldiers because of their twisted beliefs. It is what it is.

I'd rather stop talking about the assassin and focus on the 13 families that are grieving over loved ones killed by his hands tonight. The 30 more that are hoping their family members recover from the physical and metal damage he delivered to them in his terrorist attack. I would also like to focus on the hero's that again ran towards the gunfire to help fellow soldiers.

No doubt brother. She performed magnificently.

Too be very clear. I respect your thoughts and concerns. I don't want you to think I approve of idiotic hateful behavior. I'm sure many Muslims feel the same way when they see extremist twist and use their beliefs as an excuse to kill. Sadly it's the world we live in today. You know the old saying. A few bad apples? I served with some outstanding soldiers that practiced Islam. I had a conversation today with a soldier that I served with in Afghanistan that practices Islam. He is heartbroken over the shootings and wished he would have been there to take the assassin down. He's been praying for the victims and hopes to visit some of them when he gets done with his current tour.

Most of the time that is what happen in cases like this. It seems like they are dropping the ball a lot. Almost every case I read about there is someone dropping the ball. We just had a gang rape in Richmond HS during the prom. And so many people dropped the ball there. They were not doing their security job. So it seems like when bad things happen there is always some one not doing their job to catch it. Which makes me think there are a lot of times where people drop the ball, but or lucky that nothing bad happen because of it. Any ways sad story and my prayers go out to the families. And Jack glad everyone in your family were OK.

                            From the cousin:
"They wouldn't treat him as if he is one of them. He was a major in the Army and other majors wouldn't treat him equally as a major should be treated," the cousin said. " 'Yes, you are a major in the U.S. Army, but you are still an Arab, a Muslim, you have your own traditions and values and we have ours.' He was bothered by that a lot. He wasn't respected as he should have been."
When you're a high ranking official in the Army and voicing your displeasure over the war, why shouldn't he be treated differently? What did he expect when he says stuff like that. The cousin is just throwing out BS excuse after BS excuse.

"He wasn't respected as he should have been." That may have been true at the time, but looking back, he doesn't deserve any respect as an American or a human being. The world is better off without this ******* and I hope he rots in hell for eternity.

When I was in the Army, I tried to treat everyone with respect, because if someone does flip and start shooting people, i would Hope I would be spared.

Re: 7 dead 12 wounded in shooting spree

KILLEEN, Texas – One of two police officers who confronted the alleged Fort Hood killer says he shot Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan before kicking the man's weapon away, handcuffing him and ending the nation's worst killing spree on a military base.

Sgt. Mark Todd joined Sgt. Kimberly Munley, hailed as a hero for her actions, in a firefight with Hasan that lasted less than a minute. Todd was not wounded, but the exchange left Munley injured and Hasan critically wounded.

Seconds after Todd arrived on the scene, he said he saw a calm-looking Hasan, his gun drawn and his fingers pointing at people outside the Soldier Readiness Processing Center. Todd said he then saw Hasan shooting at soldiers as they attempted to flee.

"He was firing at people as they were trying to run and hide," Todd told The Associated Press Saturday.

That's when Todd, a retired soldier who now works as a civilian police officer at Ford Hood, said he shouted at Hasan to stop.

"I told him stop and drop your weapons, I identified myself as police and he turned and fired a couple of rounds at me. I didn't hear him say a word ... he just turned and fired."

There has been confusion since Thursday's rampage about whose bullets actually brought Hasan down. At first, Munley's supervisor said it was her shot to Hasan's torso that leveled him, but Army officials would only say that an investigation was under way.

Munley was down by the time he engaged Hasan, Todd said. He wasn't sure if Munley had wounded the suspect, because "once he started firing at me, I lost track of her."

Todd said he fired his Beretta at Hasan. Hasan flinched, Todd said, then slid down against a telephone pole and fell on his back. Todd says he then heard bystanders say "two more, two more."

At first he thought the soldiers meant there were two more suspects, but then he realized they were urging him to fire two more rounds at Hasan, thinking he was still posing a threat.

Todd approached the suspect and saw that he still had a weapon in his hand. Todd kicked away the gun, which he said had a laser-aiming device attached to it.

"He was breathing, his eyes were blinking. You could tell that he was fading out. He didn't say anything. He was just kind of blinking," said Todd.

Todd handcuffed Hasan and checked to see if he was still alive. "He had a good pulse," said Todd. He also cut off pieces of Hasan's clothes so he could get first aid and noticed Hasan had gunshot wounds on his side and back.

From the time he got to the scene until Hasan dropped was just 30-45 seconds, Todd said. "It was pretty intense. There was a lot of people shouting, a lot of people giving directions," he said.

Munley, whose injuries weren't believed to be life threatening, won wide praise after the incident. Facebook fan pages quickly sprouted up, with well-wishers cheering her heroism and crediting the officers with saving lives.

Todd said there were numerous heroes, including the first responders who helped the injured.

"It's what we've been trained to do. This is what we have to do," he said. "There was absolutely no time to think about it ... you have to react."
