I've been hanging around for a while, but just on Staff since February. Right around the time all the new baseball games were coming out. After coming on as a moderator, Steve asked if people could help out with the news. So I do part of the daily updates, as well.
BDoughty: The obsession with Fievel, is it one of simple admiration or should we be concerned?
Ask Clay.
Around the time I came on Staff, I also posted my picture in the Member Pictures thread. Clay, for some reason known only to him, decided I looked like Fievel Mousekewitz. Since I was looking for a new avatar at the time, I decided that Fievel would be as good as any. And thus the legend of the Mouse That Banned was born ...
BDoughty: What sports teams do you follow? Do you have a favorite sport?
NFL Football is definitely my favorite sport - I follow it year-round. My team is the Eagles, but I also find myself following Da Bears, The Pack, and the Broncos. I used to be a huge NBA fan, but the league is rapidly losing my interest. I follow most other sports, both college and pro, through ESPN, SI, and the Web. But I wouldn't call myself a "fan". Yet.
BDoughty: Tell us about the Fossen family?
Nine years ago this summer, I left my home in Chicago to spend the summer acting at the California Shakespeare Festival. There, I met the woman of my dreams: April. We met, started dating, and I never even went back to Chicago to get my stuff!
We've been married now for almost 5 years, and have two beautiful girls: Cora (3 years) and Zoe (1 year old in August).
BDoughty: Other then sports gaming, do you have any hobbies?
Within the past year, I've taken up golf. While I'm completely horrible, I'm also becoming pretty addicted. Those times when you hit a perfect shot ... it's a feeling so good that you keep trying, even though 95% of the time you're completely frustrated.
I also read a lot. I try to average 2-3 books a month, mainly modern fiction: Delillo, Wallace, Vollmann, that sort. I try to balance that with a good amount of non-fiction: lots of math and science, and history (particularly Early Christianity and the Historical Jesus). I suppose that since my wayward college Theater education never led to a degree, I'm still making up for it.
