"Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

Freedom and Liberty > Communism and Tyranny.

Wow I didn't even realize that its been that long.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I only vaguely remember hearing about the Berlin Wall coming down as I was only 8 in 1989 and was probably incapable of understanding its significance. A historic anniversary thoough. I read a news article yesterday that described how they made a wall of giant foam plastic dominos along the path of the old wall and that it would toppled today in a ceremony to commemorate the event.

This was awesome for a couple of reasons. One for the World. And one for my family. I had aunts and uncles that have not seen each other for many many many years. Ones were on the Eastside and ones were on the Westside. I remember reading letters how that went. Just incredible.

I think the biggest thing they learned was that political propaganda doesn't work when there's literally 20 feet separating the second or third best economy in the world and one of the worst.

20 years ago I was 10 years old, saw it on the news for a few minutes and then went to the restuarant to buy a gyro.

I was only one. So yeah, all I have are pictures, wikipedia, and textbook to re-live this moment, if that's possible.

Kim Jong Il would disagree with that

There's a difference between an open wall with radio and television transmissions and 2.5 miles of landmines and armed guards.

My father made me sit down and watch the entire broadcast on the news.....now that I feel old.
