Yeah, I'm not cooking anything. Between my mom, girlfriend and my sister in-law, I'll just be sitting on my ***. I'll be around to taste whatever they need though. Can't wait.

She'll probably be late because she'll be too busy posting pictures of her kids on facebook. Meaning I won't eat.

Well...I'll try to answer the original question since I love cooking. I'm seriously thinking about trying a 'turducken' this year. They're easy as hell to make. You can order them online for around $40 or $75 for a really, really good big one. I saw Guy eating one on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives the other night. He kept saying "that is so money" like he always does but damn, it did look so money. It's a chicken stuffed inside of a duck stuffed inside of a turkey. Google 'turducken'

I've never had one, apparently they're pretty popular.

I had a turducken as a kid at a Lions game, when they were still at the Sivlerdome. They are not bad, but we haven't had one since. Stay pretty traditional with a turkey.

But as for what I'm cooking, it's all pretty traditional stuff. Nothing too crazy.

What is the best way to cook the turkey anyway?

It was always "deep fried is the best, by far."

Now all im hearin is smoked is the new deep fried

Whether its smoked or deep fried, make sure its brined...it's a must for pure juiciness, tenderness, and depth of flavor.

Yeah, brining is the key no matter how you're cooking it. Or stuffing the skin with herb butter... that works pretty well too.

I'll be making spanakopita most likely since I have a bunch of phyllo dough in the fridge. And an apple crumble pie.

Don't celebrate Thanksgiving, so I wont be cooking anything.

Yeah me and my Ethnic Studies/Anthropology professor uncle aren't big on this holiday either. We just use it as an excuse to get together with family. Not a fan of the cultural imperialism, slaughter of native peoples, and false history that this holiday reminds me of. Haha, when he sends out invites, there's always at least one mention of the screwed up history of the holiday, lest we forget.

Lucky for me I don't have to cook anything this Thanksgiving. Going to the girlfriends grandmothers house this year.

For the people saying "I don't believe in the Thanksgiving holiday" get over yourself. Thanksgiving is no different then Christmas , Easter , or any other holiday. They are all an excuse to spend time with family and for people to spend money.

They could say the same to you, your opinion of it is no more important than theirs.
