    good to hear.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Anyway.....if you raise your kids to believe in such things then hey I am not going to knock it and how you raise your kids.

I grew up in a bad neighborhood in an apartment building no chimney, where cops nor regular white people would even walk, run or drive through. So I knew full well those mystical characters that were shown as white on tv would come through either LOL.

My parents were always brutal honest with me and said straight out my gifts came from them not no BS fictional character riding a sled.
I had no chimney....but lo and behold...as a 5-6-7 year old kid I somehow believed that he slid down one into my house to bring me presents.....and they could have told me he was green and from Mars(to my recollection I don't remember seeing a Martian in my neighborhood) and I would have believed he was coming. HE WAS BRINGING ME PRESENTS!!!
Now before you go on saying..."well at least you could get presents"....that's another issue(and one of the reasons I always to http://www.operationsports.com/forum...kehead.gifToys for Tots and choose a couple of families to "adopt" for Christmas....no kid should not get something..anyting for the holidays)...but trust me when I tell you. I did not get elaborate or a huge quantity of gifts. I'm pretty sure some might have been second hand. I didn't get a bike until I was 11 or 12 I think.(used...and oh man was it cheesy...thanks anyway Mom!)
I'm sorry you missed out on it as a kid.
Perhaps you should think about adopting a family that needs help at the holidays and keep that from happening again somewhere else.
      It will feel GREAT.

My mom told me that Santa could shrink into a small size (presents and all) and walk underneath the door.

That, apparently, was believable enough for me.

The house I lived in until I was 8 also had no chimney. My parents told me and my little sister that Santa had a magic key that could open the front door of any house that didn't have a chimney so he could get in.

Glad to see the USPS came to their senses

I lived in an apartment for most of my childhood and was told that Santa would fly with his reindeer onto the balcony and open the sliding door to deliver my presents

In a perfect world that would be nice and if you were fortunate enough to grow up in a good neighborhood then yeah you could do that. But where I grew up, I seen my 1st dead body when I was 5 years old and throughout my childhood I seen many people get killed right in front of my eyes or if not killed, beat down over stupid crap.

So therefore my parents were always brutally honest with me. Which taught me for every action there is a reaction of some sort. So when the phone got cut off for a year, I knew why. When the gas was cut off, my dad was straight up and said I loaned your uncle some money and that SOB skipped town and didnt pay me back.

Now when it came to christmas, it was the same thing, make a list of 10 things and give it to him. Out of those 10 things, 5 of those things would be the cheaper version of it and one would be what I actually asked for, the rest would be clothes.

Me too. I am 36 years old, and at this time of year I still believe in Santa. Why not!?! A little Christmas spirit never hurt anyone. It's a magical time of year. Sorry your childhood was tough, I can appreciate that. Well, Merry Christmas to you, and I hope Santa is good to you this year. How awesome would it be if you got a gift from him this year. LOL!

No chimney either. My family just told me he walked through the front door, plus I "saw" it because my great aunt would dress as Santa at our family Christmas party every year and come in the front door.

I didn't have a chimney either. Santa just came through the front door. I know he did because he ate the cookies and drank the milk I left him. He even wrote me a note back. As I got older I realised Santa's hand writing was just like my Dads. Pretty neat !!!!

yeah I didn't have a chimney either. I was told that Santa had a special key that unlocked any door he needed.

Ahhh...the memories of being a child at Christmas. Nothing like being awoken in the early hours of the morning, hearing Santa hammering, rustling, and cursing like a sailor because something wouldn't go together right.
