Re: OS being an OS
But I remember in boot camp a Chief asked a recruit what rate he picked and the recruit said OS and the Chief said, "Oh an Operation Specialist, it sounds like a glorious and very important job, your in charge of operations, your a specialist, well in reality you sit on your *** in front of a green screen all day while the rest of the crew is doing work. Operation Specialist my ***, get out of my face." Lol it was hilarious, but I've heard that from a few people, but they thats what the military is all about, do nothing most of the time and when the **** hits the fan you better know your stuff.Last edited by Buckeyes_Doc; 11-21-2009, 11:58 PM.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: OS being an OS
lol yeah. Since we are in our own secure room. no one ever sees us unless we leave so its basically looks like we dont do anything. and yeah that is true. youll be sitting here doing nothing for 11 hours and then all hell beaks out. So you have to know your stuff.
The OS guys in the Navy are like those guys you always see in the movies, the ones sitting in the dark room in front of various radar displays. Its a pretty cool job, and OS was actually what I wanted to go in the Navy, but they only had it available if I went to boot camp 2 weeks after I joined. So i didnt choose it, but it was something I always wanted to do.
