    Re: Going to the Dentist

Funny, the novacaine shots are my favorite part (well not favorite, but I don't even think twice about them). Weird I know.

Until I was 12 or 13, I didn't even know they used a needle. My dentist would always have me look one way and come in with it from the other side and just say "little pinch" and then inject me and I never knew what was going on and never felt pain from it.

Even to this day when they give me the shot they act suprised that I don't flinch from it. I must be missing some nerves in my gums or something. Even when I floss, I pull the floss real deep into my gum line and I actually enjoy that sensation.

If the pain isn't enough to convince you to take better care of your teeth, the bills surely will.

Personally I have no issue with anything at the dentist really except for the teeth cleaning. That is the worst there is IMO. All that scraping with metal on your teeth. Give me a cavity filling over that anyday!

I'm currently in dental school and hearing these stories are pretty funny and informative. If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them! Man, the most interesting part though is the price(s) they charge in private practice. A grand for a crown? Wow, it's 1/2 price at school.
