My mom and dad hit some black ice while driving here in Canada and flipped upside down into a pond. Thankfully where they landed it wasn't deep but they had to be extracted from the car. My mom had some minor bruising and was released but my dad got the worst of it with 4 or 5 broken ribs and a concussion and facial lacerations but will be fine. Also they had their seat belts on so that saved them from going the through the windshield resulting in any further injury. It scared the hell out of me today when I got the call from my mom. I am just thankful everything turned out okay. I just thought I'd share my thoughts as it's been an quite an emotional day for me.

Yeah gave me quite a scare. My mom tried to control the car when she spun out as their were oncoming cars so that's how she flipped into the creek. They were told that they were lucky to have landed where they did as their was deeper water where they could have possibly drowned being upside down. Man, I'm sorry to hear they had to go through that but thankfully they'll be okay.
That'll make you appreciate them so much more though. I know when my dad got into his car accident and I wasn't even given word whether or not he was okay, that was one of the scariest moments of my life. My mom is fine just really shook up and my dad will be fine but he has 8 broken ribs and a concussion will probably need some phyisiotherapy afterwards for his ribs. Their keeping him in St. Micheal's hospital in Toronto for a few days just to do more tests.
