    iTunes

How hard is iTunes to use? I have always heard it's a pain to mess with. Got an iPod for xmas, but not sure if I wanna keep it or go with something else. I wouldn't be buying the music from iTunes, just transferring it from PC to iPod.

I have a dieing Creative Zen right now, and the 5 year old software it uses it amazing and very simple.

It's easy as pie. Whoever told you it's a pain is either lying because they're biased or knows nothing about computers. It's easy as anything. It's all click and drag.

        Re: iTunes

Its as easy as using the internet or using windows media player. Just install it click and drag and your good to go. If you are a caveman brand new to computers I can see where iTunes might be difficult.

          Re: iTunes

It's only a pain in as much as it's like most of Mac stuff, it's so simple to use that experienced PC users may try to make it more complicated than it is. I actually think it'd be much EASIER to use if you were brand new to computers.

When I first used it I kept trying to make folders and organize things, not realizing that you pretty much just dump all of your music into it and it organizes everything for you.

With that being said I still don't understand some things about it like why it sync'ed my new iPod last night and put everything on it except for two eps of Always Sunny in Philadelphia and one ep of The Shield. I had it on copy everything and I have 4 gigs free so space shouldn't be an issue. I'm going to try to figure that out tonight, maybe it's just some setting.

Yeah don't be worried about exchanging that ipod for something else, itunes is simple. Just don't try to overthink using it is all.

One tip: Once you fill up your ipod with music, if for some reason you lose your music on your PC do NOT hook that ipod back up to your PC or it will overwrite your music with nothing. If something like that happens to you, and your music is all on your ipod and nowhere else, either post here for help or read around before proceeding to try to restore it yourself.

Oh and you don't have to use itunes just because you have an ipod. You can use Windows Media Player on ipods now, i was reading about that the other day. Google it.

It's not too much of a pain, it just isn't as convenient as being able to copy/paste your music files like you can with other MP3 players.

I figured out why all my videos didn't go onto my iPod.... It was becuz iTunes has a Setting To only copy unwatched videos once I changed that it all copied over ok. It's a good example though of iTunes quirks

i'm as dumb as they come (technologically speaking) and i find it extremely to use. i love the feature that allows you to share your music within a network. my wife uses our PC for her music, and I have transferred all our music onto my laptop (did it through the music share) and then i put my ipod on my laptop (we don't share the same tastes in music). i really like itunes and find it very simple and enjoyable.
