Another reason to be thankful: Failed terrorist attack
Guy tried to blow up a plane as it was heading to Detroit. A passenger jumped on him before it could get going. Everyone is safe.

Thank God everyone is safe, and that man is a hero. As for the terrorist, get him out of the hospital and throw him in jail and throw away the key.Comment

Amen to that, how he slipped that through security? I don't know. But I'm thankful he didn't succeed, interestingly this happened on Christmas, everyone needs to be real vigilant during the holidays, Because they may have something else planned.Comment

Re: Another reason to be thankful: Failed terrorist attack
I'd like to know what happened to screening. Cripes I can't get into the San Diego airport when planes arrive (have to wait down stairs for the passengers to come down) and then this happens?
I guess we'll know more tomorrow.Comment

Re: Another reason to be thankful: Failed terrorist attack
And in reading the witness accounts of the "explosion" and all, it doesn't sound as though the "bomb" was a really a whole hell of a lot. Not that it makes it any less of a traumatic incident nor the actions of the man who subdued the suspected terrorist any less heroic.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Another reason to be thankful: Failed terrorist attack
Was just told to "**** off" by my sister after getting into a debate over 9/11 conspiaracy theories after I told my family about this story.
Great way to end Christmas.
And as for this story, and these kind of people....**** them. There isn't a punishment severe enough for them.Comment

Re: Another reason to be thankful: Failed terrorist attack
No one even knows if this guy is even a terrorist yet, but he's already branded as one.
For all we know, he's just a mentally ill guy who said he was part of Al-Qaida.
I'm not saying he was, but preliminary reports hardly make me believe the sky is falling.Comment

Re: Another reason to be thankful: Failed terrorist attack
Al-Queda, mentally ill, doing it on his own...the man tried to blow up a plane with 238 passengers on it. That's an act of terrorism no matter what, in my mind.Comment

Anyone not representing a legitimate state who attempts to blow up an airplane carrying civilians is a terrorist.Comment
