Because a lot of country clubs don't allow women on the grounds unless they are providing "entertainment".

People always think soccer is a "pansy" sport....until they actually play it - enjoy the bruises and broken ankles because you're going halfway into a tackle...

Lol ya. I stopped defending it years ago, it's just not worth it anymore. I played D1 and semi-pro, and the physical beating you take at higher levels is something most people just won't ever understand.

I'll tell you this though... the majority of people who have ever told me "soccer is for wimps", tried it at some point in their life and sucked at it.

All of this "soccer is for girls" talk reminds me of this:

Yeah, I would say it's less physical than football, hockey, lacrosse, and fighting sports, but it's certainly physical.

The thing that I can't stand about soccer that makes it a bit of a "pansy game" in my eyes is the diving and the fake injuries just to get a call. I know it's part of the game and that the rules have evolved so that you basically have to do it, but man the **** up. It's ridiculous. Dudes diving when they barely get hit and pretending they're dying on the ground just to draw a card. It's unbearable to me.

Don't get me wrong, I think soccer requires an insane amount of skill and fitness. And I'm pretty sure being a keeper might be the most difficult position in all of professional sports. But the diving and the faking just makes me want to hit someone.

I think it's because it's a game that is typically played by a bunch of men on a Saturday away from their wived. You stand around, talk about manly stuff with no women around, enjoy the outdoors, and get a few drinks afterward.

The game itself is far from manly.

The experience, however, is quite manly.

Wow, seems like they had a REALLY loose definition of what a sport is....and how in the world can pansy "sports" like soccer and golf make this list but Lacrosse (the Indian Game of War) not be included?
Have you actually watched a soccer game at the highest level?

Its not exactly a pansy sport.

                            Because people are idiots.

It's like those people who talk Rugby all up and say it's better because it's more dangerous; as if danger makes something better. They call American Football players wussies because they wear padding... No, padding is smart, while ramming into each other with no protection is idiotic.
