I'm just curious have any of you guys ever sensed the presence of the deceased? I think I had such an experience back in September.
My wife's granddaddy passed away during the Summer of 08, and we were extremely close to him. He was one of the finest men that I have ever known, and he was like a grandfather to me. He was very much a family man, and there is no doubt in my mind that he loved his family dearly. He was a very humble, and a very peaceful man.
Anyway, this past September I was on his farm out in the yard by myself enjoying a cigar on a nice evening when I sensed his presence in a very subtle way, and a very strong peaceful feeling came over me. I looked across the field of his farm, and said thank you with tears in my eyes because it felt like he had visited me. It really brought comfort to me. I'm about to turn 32, and this is the only time that I have ever had an experience like this. It almost seems like a dream to me. I don't believe in ghosts, but this experience has made me think. He really loved his farm, and I can't think of anywhere else he had rather be so it all makes perfect sense to me.
He used to smoke a pipe, and one evening my wife's aunt said that she smelled pipe smoke in the air. She said "thank you Daddy" when it happened because she felt the same way I did.
