I have to nominate Joe Kittinger for Badass of the 20th Century after seeing this, though. Dude jumped out of a balloon lifted gondola at 102,800 ft (31,300m) and freefell for over 4 minutes and reached a speed of 614mph.....in 1960 (terminal velocity for humans is roughly 120mph in a normal position, 200mph is a bullet position). His right glove malfunctioned and his hand doubled in size. And since then, no one has been able to match his height or speed. Baumgartner is going for 120,000 ft. and the speed of sound (depends where they measure it)
