Looks like I'll be taking a trip to Men's Warehouse sometime in the next week or so. We're having a career fair Sunday and I wanted to have a suit for that, but the weather here is terrible, not worth attempting to drive in and I'm kinda hoping they postpone it as we're supposed to get more snow this weekend.

Yes. I shrunk my pants in the wash when they got mixed in with my slacks. Oh well.

            Well I made it to Men's Wearhouse today. Well...I feel...I don't know.

I've never spent so much money in my life. Not at one time. I walked in and felt lost but the dude sized me up real quick, gave me a lot of advice on what I should pick out (this is mainly for a career fair and possible job interview). I have no formal fashion sense whatsoever so all this was new to me.

I ended up with a jacket (fit perfect), pants, 2 shirts, 2 pairs of socks, 2 ties, a belt, hanger, shoes, cedar tree leaves for the shoes.

I was very weary looking at all this together. Then I saw the bill. I wanted to vomit. But I couldn't get Stringer Bell out of my head.

"Look the part, be the part mother****er!"

So I did...I didn't wanna make mistakes or shortchange myself on my first time and I need an internship/job so this has to payoff. I trudged slowly to my car, nauseous and lightheaded. I felt like I had been raped. I felt like I had seen somebody get hit by a car. I don't know how to describe it.

$634! And the suit was half off!!! A tie is $50??? Hooooly sweet mother of Zod! I feel like I need a lifetime warranty on this thing. Sale? SALE?? I've never spent more than $25 on a pair of jeans or $90 on a pair of shoes. "Look the part, be the part mother****er." I'm still traumatized. I never thought I could get so sick spending money.

Think about how much $$$$ you're going to make when you show up to the interview looking all professional and ish.... Plus, as we all know, the girls go crazy for a sharp-dressed man.

I would return those. You can find very nice ties for under $20 if you are willing to do some shopping. Not so w/ shoes and shirts because fit is so important, but dropping a $100 on 2 ties is not the best allocation of funds. Otherwise, your price seems right on the nose.

I bought my first suit from Jos A. Bank. I payed about $300 for it. I got about 3 years of wear out of it and it landed me my first job out of college

I agree. It probably would have been better to get the accessories, or at least the ties and belt, somewhere else.

You could've done alot better with patience on eBay or a thrift store, just some advice for next time.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Yea, well I didn't want to chance buying something that might not fit me. And the ties were buy 1 get 1 50% off (stiiilll gatdang!).
