Is there any humanity out there?

When I was driving home from work I saw this homeless person holding up a sign, and I noticed these kids were giving the guy a hard time. They decide to throw a half full slurpy right in his face and threw corn nuts or peanuts at him. The guy just stood there as if nothing was happening. I percieve to follow these kids and tail them while keeping my horn on lock...They ended up speeding up to 55 in a 35 so I could no longer tail them.
I went back to where the guy is located, and I noticed a Subway shop so I got him a sub and a napkin. As good as I felt doing that...I gurantee what I did could not make up for what happened to him.

It's like I lost all hope for humanity...It's not everyday where you see something so sad...And when you do you kind of get disgusted and depressed.

Why didnt you just call the cops and follow them until the police know their location? But yes, there is lots of Humanity in the world, I see lots of overweight homeless people so someone out there is looking out for them

I believe what you did will be a memory he will always have. Who knows, maybe (longshot but it is rational) he was nearly starving and it was God's plan to feed the man - to make all of that to happen to get you to do something that you wouldn't have otherwise in normal conditions.

Wow, that's crazy.

I've never actually seen anything that bad. There is a homeless guy around my hometown that my wife and I have given money to a couple of times. He seems very nice, and very thankful. I know that many people would think that giving homeless people money usually would lead to them spending it on something bad. The first time we bought him a small sub, and a bottled water. Another time we gave him five bucks or so. I told the guy that I'm sorry I couldn't give him more, but he was very thankful and told me, "you have no idea how much this will help me".

He always holds a sign that says "Will work for lunch".

Funny/sad story...
Back when I was a police officer...I lived in Flushing by the train at Roosevelt Ave.(busy)
I always used to see this homeless guy....really disheveled looking...and I'd always throw some bucks in his cup. The guy never looked up and never spoke.
One day...FREEZING cold and this guy has on a light jacket...he could barely hold his coffee....so I go to my apartment and grab an old coat....hat...gloves and head back to Roosevelt Ave.
I approach the guy and give him the coat...talking to him of course......he just looks at me weird...so I try and put the coat around him to show him I want to give it to him....
HE FLIPS....and I mean starts going nuts....he got some good shots in on me before I realized what was happening....tagged me right in the face.....so I subdue the guy and I'm trying to get him to calm down.......it was like trying to hold an animal....
Someone called the P.D....and when the R.C. showed up and two uni's get out.....he calms down...like immediately.
I start to tell them I'm on the job and I was just trying to give him a coat...and they start yelling at ME!...They were saying..."what the **** are you talking to Harry for...he doesn't like to talk and he doesn't bother anyone!"
So I got my a$$ kicked and then yelled at for trying to give the guy a coat!

Yeah...I gave that guy money after that. I didn't speak to him...but I gave him money and sandwiches.

That's seriously ****ed up. I would've hated to see that. I always feel bad when I see homeless people. And seeing them getting abused like that would be sickening. Thanks for buying that guy a sub too. Probably didn't make up for what had just happened, but I'm sure it at least made him feel better.
