I was going with the "double mint" action, but that's pretty funny.

Damn those first 2 are pretty serious as a DB if they are offering a scholarship. Good luck to him.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Operation Sports Most Wanted Picture List/Discussion
Yea he has been on the recruiting lineup for LSU for over a year now. It is pretty nice cause we can go to all the home games for free because he gets recruiting tickets. Will he get a scholarship is the big question. I'm hoping he does but you are talking big talent, in big level ball, so he has a TOUGH challenge.Comment

I know almost doesn't count, but scholarship or not, this really says something about how talented your brother is.
Best of luck to him/your family.I post the frog

Re: Operation Sports Most Wanted Picture List/Discussion
Regardless of the outcome, how many guys can say they were recruited by one of the finest football programs in the entire country?

I think he should go where he can put up stats.Comment

Re: Operation Sports Most Wanted Picture List/Discussion
He says the same thing lol, I'm trying to talk him into going to ULL cause he can get playing time a lot sooner. He keeps saying he wants LSU even if he rides the bench the whole time just for the sake of saying he was on LSU football team.
I think he should go where he can put up stats.
But I think the best advice for anyone making a big decision is always "follow your heart, it won't lead you down the wrong path"."Most people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them"Comment

The thing with LSU though is the talent is deep.

LSU
Pros -
* Would learn from some of the best coaches in the nation
* Would play for one of the best football programs of all time
* Would play in front of massive, epic crowds weekly
* Would have the opportunity to win a National Championship
* Would almost certainly experience two major bowl games in his career
* Would be in nationally televised games and receive more media attention
* Would receive a better education
* Would have the chance to interact with notable alumni (NFL players)
* Would face the best competition in the country
* Would forever be known for being one of the few to make an LSU roster
* Would receive a free education
* Would have access to top notch facilities
* Would practice with some of the best players in the nation
* Would play in the best football conference in college
Cons -
* Could redshirt his first year
* Could be buried on depth chart for entire career
ULL
Pros -
* Could start early on and receive more playing time
* Would play a weaker schedule, making it easier to earn stats/make plays
* Would receive a free education
* Would still play for a respectable team, even if not LSU/FSU
Cons -
* Would receive less national attention and not play on television much
* Would not have the opportunity to play in as many "big games"
* Would not have the same quality of coaching
* Would not play in front of many epic, large crowds (like in the SEC)
Either way, both of you have a lot to be proud of. He has already done more with his football career than 90% or more of the guys who play in high school ever will.
And the biggest thing is that he seemingly will be receiving a free education. That is worth its weight in gold alone!
Your brother is in for one hell of a ride the next 4-5 years and you're going to have so many opportunities to experience it with him.
Tell him to enjoy the experience and wish him good luck!I post the frog

I definitely see both sides as each has their pros and cons. Obviously unless he's some kind of uber-stud he most likely wouldn't see solid playing/starting time time until his junior, possibly senior season unless he could earn a special teams spot at LSU - which is still really, really cool. ULL is also nothing to be ashamed of either. Look at it this way:

Oh he is my brother-in-law. Granted he is like my lil brother. Me and his sister started dating when he was 9, so I've seen him grow up. We do a ton together and were very close. I'm very proud to see him succeed.
