    My dreams shattered

hey guys not in the best of moods after what has happened to me recently so i came to the fourms so you guys can console me .
recently i was involved in an accident. i will not explain it extensively but it has left me with a complete Rotator Cuff tear along with a ligament tear in my elbow. I Probably won't be able to play my favorite sport in the world (baseball) for a while. just needed to get this out there as times are not the best and i need just a little boost from you guys

        Re: My dreams shattered

Feel better poop. (Wow that sounds funky). Just take it easy and listen to what the doctor's tell you to do. I'm currently recovering from some damage to the muscles/tendons in my right calf muscle, and it's so difficult to keep yourself from trying to go too far too fast. I know you're probably in quite a bit of pain (though I'm sure the medications you were given are helping that out ) but that pain is your body's way of telling you that you're still hurt, so listen to it! I'm sure you'll have physical therapy once the initial injury has subsided a bit, and while that therapy will suck massive *** for a while, you just need to go through with it. Try to keep positive thoughts and also go easy on the pain meds. Take what is prescribed for a while to lessen the pain, then deal with some pain for a few days to make sure you're not getting addicted to them. You don't want to compound your problems by getting hooked on painkillers!

Ah, man, big fear for those that enjoy playing baseball.

Did you hurt it on the field or did you try tearing the Yellow Pages in half again?

I hope you get better soon poop. Don't cut corners when you go through your rehab, it will only hurt your progress.

If it is any consolation playing professional baseball as a career is highly unlikely anyway, unless you start juicing.

it was a combo of stupidity and a freak accident. was warming up and my shoulder just felt really tight. i shook it off and went to the field started threw around 10 pitches my arm nearly felt dead and then finally the straw that broke the camels back was during fly ball practice ( i pitch and play center) dove for a ball and thats when it ultimately happened. Got some good news from the doc 2day though says if i am able to play again my arm will be stronger than it was before. The key word is "if" though but i think everything is gonna be ok gotta stay positive

Damn bro, I wish I could offer some sage advice. Just go with it. Work, and work some more, don't take more for an answer.

Odd as it seems, just remember it can always be worse. And you CAN get through this.
