    Re: Bottled Water Discussion

We use a Brita filter. I hate the economics and waste of bottled water (heck, some even have it on the label that it's from such and such municipal source) and buying a ten pack of filters that will last a year from Costco for $40 seems like a good deal.

I've had ****ty tap water before (Springfield, IL) and great tap water (Denver suburbs) but the simplicity of the Brita just works the best.

We buy a handful of cases of water a year and pretty much only use them in a pinch when we're on the go or when we go somewhere like the beach of the zoo or something.

I drink tap water like it's going out of style both at work and at home. Both are filtered and taste refreshing to me. As long as I have ice, I'm happy.

We moved into a new building for work about two years ago and each employee was given two heavy duty cups (a 20 ouncer for water and a 12 ouncer for coffee). The majority of people use these on a regular basis. The keep bottled water stocked in the executive quarters, but that's about the only place I see it here.

Bottled water is an F'ing rip off. Biggest scam ever. I swear my wife goes through about 30 bottles a week.

I just use the filter from my fridge or get it from the sink.

I hate drinking water from the sink. My dad used to always harp on my mom for buying bottled water. He always said it was wasting money when we can just get water from the sink. To him, water is water and there's no difference. But to me, there is a difference and some water tastes better than others. And bottled/filtered > sink/faucet water every freaking day of the week.

Oh if I drank bottled water I'd have to pay quite a pretty penny. I drink about a gallon/day. That's 6 20oz bottles...at least a couple bucks/day. I just fill up my 24 oz water bottle throughout the day.

I only use bottled water for when I am on the go. I usually have one in my truck and it stays fresh. Never around the house

I'll drink whatever I can get my hands on. If it's bottled, tap, or filtered. Doesn't make a difference to me.

I actually drink tap water out of this grimy sink at work. Throw it in the fridge for a few minutes and it's refreshing as heck. Mmmm, lead! It's that or a soda. I'll take my chances.

I drink bottled water. It's colder coming from my fridge then tap water. I suppose I could refrigerate tap but I'm happy with my bottles. It's not that I don't like tap, sometimes when I only want a quick sip I'll cup my hands and drink from the tap.

I like to chew on the caps when I'm done with the water. I swear I always play better in video games when I'm chewing on a cap. Poland Springs is the way to go. Especially since they started using less plastic to "go green" so the caps are more flexible and easier to chew. They're also smaller (like half the size in height of a regular cap) which was pretty weird when they made the change.

This thread reminds me of a hilarious Penn and Teller episode about bottled water.

What people fail to realize is that most bottled water is recycled tap water. People who think bottled water is any different than tap water are being duped by the labeling.

"Aquafina" implies something very pure, but it sources some of its water from the Detroit River.

I couldn't care less if it tastes much better.

That being said, I won't drink Arrowhead just because it's bottled. It is also inferior tasting water.

Tap water is fine. The only time I drink bottled water is when I can't get it from the tap.
