Re: I Think My House Is Haunted....
This thread reminded me of something that happens to me on occasion. Every once in awhile before I fall asleep I hear something say my name...sometimes it's a whisper and sometimes not. Wondered if anyone else has ever had this happen to them. I'm sure it's just an auditory hallucination. One night I did get freaked out though...After I heard my name I actually responded "What?"...and then I could have sworn I heard a distinct whispered "Hi" back at me...Couldn't sleep much that night
When I was younger, before I went to bed, I could hear my family talking as if the conversations of the day were being whispered into my ear. Not sure why that happens, but it was always interesting to me."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Yea, I've had this happen to me too, but I think there's a scientific explanation for it.

Re: I Think My House Is Haunted....
This thread kept me up a little later that usual last night. I was lying bed, listening to the most minute sounds, trying to make something out of nothing. I heard a light tap downstairs and then on cue my dog starts barking wildly and she NEVER barks. Guess I'll be sleeping with a bat by my side tonight.Comment

Re: I Think My House Is Haunted....
I very much believe in ghosts based on my own personal experiences. I remember vividly because i wrote down details of what I saw but last November it was late at night maybe around 3am and I'm walking back to my room from the kitchen as i'm about to turn the corner to my room I was walking by the glass doors that lead to the pool i saw an oldish man sitting on the edge of the pool, he looked like something from an old Esquire drawing and looked very 1920's in regards to his style. It wasn't due to being tired or overtired as I was neither, nor was it an actual person, I truly believe there was something there that night that was supernatural.
As a result of my own personal experiences I can't tell someone who seriously believes they saw something that they're wrong or it doesn't exist. Millions of people see and experience these things that are completely unexplainable and they can't all be lying or be wrong, there has to be something there, they have to be seeing something. As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: I Think My House Is Haunted....
I've never had a paranormal experience myself but I do believe in ghosts just from what I've heard from others. Of course some people do make these things up (not saying the OP or any of you are) but with the huge amount of people who have witnessed paranormal activity and the documentation of it I believe they are here with us.
It is something I'm very interested in and something that freaks the hell out of me.
But why are most ghost sightings at night. Most of the stories you hear are almost always during the night. Do ghosts know that's when it's safe to come out or why can't we always see them? Can they make themselves appear and re-appear?
I have so many questions on the subject because it's so fascinating to me.Last edited by Buckeyes_Doc; 04-07-2010, 03:45 PM.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: I Think My House Is Haunted....
Sorry, I didn't watch Zombieland so I'm not aware of the proper techniques of fighting zombies, ghosts or home intruders. I honestly thought a bat would do the trick. Are there any other movies I should watch in order to become a professional zombie fighter like you guys?Comment
