Broken Toes?

[WTF]

Well, while moving, I have sustained a couple of broken toes on my right foot. Right now, the foot is throbbing like crazy, throwing shooting pains into my leg (shin area).

Anyone ever had broken toes? These are an absolute pain. Since they're the pinkie toe, and the one adjacent to it, I'm still have to walk, but it's still annoying as can be.

Due to the fact that I can't run, work won't let me work, which is another pain in the butt. Anyone have any idea on how long it'll take to be able to run?

I once broke my toe (long toe, by big toe) about 4 hours before a baseball game. The thing was black and blue, and I could barely walk, but, low and behold I got a hit and hobbled around the bases like a grandpa. Anyways, probably a couple a days, if you can stand the pain. I iced mine a lot too.

Yeah, I've been doing nothing but elevating and icing... Hopefully that'll help it heal quicker.

I broke my big toe and dislocated it at the same time when I dropped a pan of chicken on my foot at work about two years ago and it still is out of place and kinda annoys me.

My senior year in college I lost my temper after a vending machine stole my money and kicked it. Actually, it was the 4th time that same vending machine had ripped me off (was trying to get a Twix bar each time) and I though they would have fixed it after the first 3 times I reported it. Honestly, I didn't think I kicked it that hard but my right big toe was swollen and black and blue and walking around campus was a real pain for a week or so. Took a good six weeks to fully heal probably because I never went to the doctor or iced it or anything. Not sure if it was broken or not, but it was at the least very badly sprained.Ended up with an ingrown toenail on the same toe about 6 months later.

Back in the summer of 1993 or so my sister who was 8 at the time was playing with our dad outside and she tried to climb a wall while chasing him but a cinder block fell and landed on her big toe. I don't really remember much other than it happened, but many years later she developed what appeared to be a mass under her toenail. When she had surgery to remove it, it turned out to be a bone chip. Turns out that cinder block must've chipped off a piece of bone and it was just floating there all those years until it started pushing up under her toenail for whatever reason.

Have you seen a doctor? Normally I'd just tell you that toes heal and it only takes time, but with it affecting your job and all I'd see a doctor. Mostly to make sure that you didn't unknowingly break some other bones in your foot that could cause recovery to take longer.

Yep, they will not do any thing for a broken toe. Some times they just tape them to another toe. They just heal if the pain is too much take some strong Motrin.

Yeah, I just find it ignorant that I'm going to be off of work for a toe break. I'm heading to get it checked out now, because they wont' even let me work without Dr. clearance.

A couple of years ago I was running to answer my phone and hit my left pinkie toe on a door frame and dislocated it pretty horribly.

It was pointed completely to the left and I had to pop it back in place. There's still a slightly bigger space between my little toe and the toe next to it, and it's still a bit sensitive.

Yep, two dislocated toes... They popped them back into place, and now I'm in an air boot. Good news is, neither were broken

I broke my little toe. Told the doctor I felt stupid for coming in. He said definitely come in, never know what it could be or how severe it is. Sounds like it was a good thing you went in

Yea, I broke my right big toe chasing a cat in high school...cut left and just rolled over it, snapping it like a twig. Never had anything hurt so bad in my life. Put it in a boot and just had to deal with it until it healed. Needless to say..coach wasn't veyr happy about that. The swelling was almost immediate, like someone shoved a golf ball under my skin.
