    Re: Neighbors doing it loudly

I had the same issue back when I was an undergrad... For a semester I lived next to an international students' mentor who would be getting it on quite a bit, esp late at night like you've mentioned. A lot of us on the floor were already awake, so we've participated in some hilarious teasing whenever we heard the lovemaking through the hall.... A couple of instances included:

My neighbor that lives on the other side of the RA took out his electric guitar, placed the amp against the RA's wall in his room, and began to play the highest string making it sound like a women's orgasm. Started with a slow tempo and went faster, etc... Of course, his friend who plays bass would also back him up and play a riff from a 70's porno movie.

Another time, a group of us were having a conversation in the hall near his door... Out of the blue, there would be his lovemaking sounds... some of the guys on the floor decided to stand in front his door and make similar mocking O-face sounds and dirty talk, complete with punching/slapping on the door. Complete laughter when the couple went to leave the room afterwards.

Disregard my last post. On a serious note, I would probably knock on the wall for them to quiet down. Its not a ***** move or a blocking move, its like someone blasting thier music at all hours of the night. You gotta say something or it'll get worse. No sense of being sleep deprived because you wanna seem like the cool neighbor who doesn't interrupt wild torrid sex.

Now if you could see this deed on the other hand......
I'm certainly not sleep-deprived. In my first post I may have said I was just watching TV when it started happening last night, but it was really quiet anyway and I was already laying in bed. And normally I wake up in the wee hours of the night anyway.

ODogg, I guess I would do something like that, but I'm really not bothered by it. It's kind of creepy that I can hear it and don't acknowledge it, but I certainly don't mind him doing it. I just don't want him to know that I know. Again, just kind of creepy. I could be like Jim Carrey in the unrated cut of Dumb & Dumber when he holds the glass up to the wall to better listen.

Yeah, if you're that loud in a dorm you just deserve to be given crap. My freshman year someone was so loud everyone stood outside his door cheering them on, the girl was soooo embarrassed when she left haha.

I would go up to the dude and say "Hey man, your really beting it up dog. The whole floor hears you, and slap him 5" end of story. If hes like "really, holy crap" then you did your job. If he is like "I know, brush this dirt off my shoulder for me" then, well, i guess you got an answer.

Well I figure he has a neighbor on the other side as well and people might pass by our rooms at that time of night, so I figure they are either in the same predicament as me and aren't acting on it, or they already have and it's a non-issue for them. I suppose I won't intervene if no one else does; I just want to know whether they're aware we can hear them or not without directly asking them.

Dude, I posted almost the exact same thread a few months back...

                http://www.operationsports.com/forum...e-problem.html

It's an odd predicament. You don't want to tell the dude to stop having sex, but at the same time, if it's interrupting your daily life in any way, that's a problem.

And the people who say "laugh it off and put on headphones" just haven't had to experience it day in and day out. It's very awkward, makes it difficult to concentrate, and is just all around annoying.

My roommate and his girlfriend eventually simmered down. I don't know why, but I eventually only heard them maybe once a week, if that, as opposed to the 4 or 5 times a week I was hearing them in the beginning.

Yell grunt noises of euphoria so that they can hear you as well. Then it could be awkward for them. Or yell, "I hear you guys having sex right now". Just do something to make it equally as awkward for them. Or turn your tv up a bit. I also like the porn idea.

If they are being loud be loud back. I like the porno ideas, or just make really weird noises. Act like a horny werewolf or something I don't know lol. I understand you don't want to make it awkward, but they obviously don't care about making it awkward so just have fun with it.

If it's a consistent thing you aren't really c-blocking him. Just yell funny stuff.

Yeah, it's no big deal to me really. I just don't want it to be uncomfortable if they know that I can hear it. I do play the headphones game and can normally sleep during it, but it's just an awkward situation.

LOL everyone is giving advice to things I don't want to do. If maybe their other neighbor does it, that's cool. I just don't want to.

Next time the finish up...yell really loudly that you need a cigarette or something stupid/silly. Keep it light hearted and I think you make your point without coming across like a prude. Or like someone else said, next time you see the dude, make a comment that you heard him pounding away last night.

How have we gotten this far without someone asking that? It's of vital importance.

The girl's hotness directly corresponds to how willing I would be to put up with this.
