call me dense, but how is this possible? don't they need a valid address in that persons name. how is company A going to be just giving out loans and fines without any real verification. SSN has never and will never be enough.

just confused.. no valid proof of ID unless they had that too? I havent applied for much in my life, so im not totally aware of the process for loans... why no blame on the companies who lend almost too easily or open up accounts?

I would think most identity theft occurs online so valid ID wouldn't be a problem.
